The Queen's Consorts 18+

The Queen's Consorts
4 of 5 stars false
The Queen's Consorts. Just laying eyes on one is a death sentence. So when Sari, who spent most of her life on the streets, ends up entangled in a steamy relationship with the two most forbidden men on the planet she knows it can’t end well.
After a brutal attack, Sari’s taken to the Sacred City, exposing her to the secret lives of the Rayians who rule in the long lost queen’s absence. It’s in this darkly sexual world where she first meets the legendary consorts.
Too handsome and talented for their own good, Calder and Taryen have learned to trust only each other in order to survive. Bred to be feared warriors and exclusive companions to a queen, instead they’re slaves to other Rayian’s desires for them.
Their brutal lives make the two consorts hesitant to care for Sari when she’s unexpectedly dumped in their laps, but they soon discover she’s different from the cruel women they’re used to serving. Drawn to Sari on a soul deep level, Calder and Taryen can’t seem to stop themselves from going back for one more taste of the beautiful outsider… even when it puts the fate of the entire world in jeopardy.

Review

****I received this book as part of a blog tour for my honest review****
Kele Moon always writes a book with the right amount of steam and story. The Queen's Consorts is no different. I was immediately catapulted into another place, planet, time within the first few pages. A world that is in despair. It's queen is missing, and her consorts, the other parts of her soul are grieving. Because of this, the sun doesn't shine, nothing grows. The world is in disarray.

I was drawn into the storyline of Sari, a woman alone in the world. When she is rescued from a horrible fate by the royal guard they discover that she is special. One of the sacred.
When she is taken within the Sacred City to heal, she is give to the Queens consorts for healing. Caldor and Taryen have an even worse past and reality that Sari. In the absence of the Queen a collective of woman have formed a council and use the consorts for their own satisfaction. Calder is an angry man and Taryen a kind wounded soul.
But something happens, changes within them when Sari is brought to them. A connection and a yearning like nothing they have ever felt before, which leaves both wondering is Sari there missing queen?
To me, there is nothing better than a great ménage story. This one was hot, hot, hot! Erotically delicious, I was under the spell of this book. The details are what made it special and I seriously want to get some of those gold piercings! They just sound like so much fun! The world was fascinating and I truly hope we get more from this world. We need more scifi erotic romance!! It adds a bit of spice and gives us something different. Totally original and as per usual, wonderfully written. Kele Moon, will you ever write anything I don't like?

Finding Eden 18+ (Eden #2)

The following review is for 18+ readers.
Finding Eden (Eden #2)
4 of 5 stars false
Book two in the Eden series. Handsome, angry and spoiled, Danny Carlow struggles to find his place in the world when his hatred for authority makes survival difficult. The only thing keeping him from completely giving up and turning to a life of crime is his friendship with clean-cut Paul Mattling. More than his conscience and best friend, Paul's also the one Danny secretly pines for with every ounce of his being. Paul is a natural over-achiever with a football scholarship and straight A's to boast about. Yet he's haunted by an abusive childhood that's left him more scarred than anyone realizes. Looking for an escape from his demons, Paul has his own deviant secrets, ones he doesn't want anyone, especially Danny, to know about. When dark desires are accidentally revealed, Danny and Paul end up coming together in a clash of wild passion more tumultuous than either of them could have anticipated. Tasting the forbidden is sweet, but it turns the tables on their relationship, putting everything, even their lifelong friendship, in jeopardy. Reader Advisory: This story visits the dark side of BDSM, where the only thing more intense than the scenes the characters participate in, is the love they have for one another. Please note there is a very brief F/F encounter.

Review

This is the prequel to Beyond Eden and I think it did a fine job giving us a different perspective, letting us know what actually happened to Paul Guy and Danny Boy when Evie left them.
"Letting her go will be the worst mistake you ever make," Danny warned. "You'll never forgive yourself for it."
We never actually see anything from Evie in this book, it is purely Danny and Paul and it was great.
What struck me about the first book was all the sacrifices that Danny Boy made for the people in his life, although he came across as cruel and uncaring, a real son of a bitch, nothing could have been farther from the truth. I think this book really let's us see the lengths he went too and the things he promises, going against things he had been fighting his whole life, to keep Paul safe and to make him his.
"I don't ever want you getting from another man what you can get from me. You hear me, Paul Guy, it's mine."
We get to see that deliciously dominating side come out in Danny and it was wonderful to see.
We have a story here with characters we already know, given a new light, a new side. I loved getting to know these boys all over again and understanding more of how they tick.
If you haven't read the first one, I would advise you to do so before reading this. Although this is a prequel, I think it is meant to be read the other way round. I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much if I hadn't. Also if you have read the first one, you will see what Danny evolves into, to satisfy Paul, some of these scenes were particularly hard to bear, definitely not for the weak hearted, this once again shows the necessity of all that. I feel like a all had been explained, thank you Kele Moon.
Very well written, and paced, not a dull moment. 4 stars!

Starfish and Coffee 18+

This review is for 18+ readers.
Starfish and Coffee

On the island where they first met two lovers from opposite sides of the tracks are reunited. Now jaded and broken, Alex and Matt still can’t deny their sizzling connection or the memories of one perfect, uninhibited year together.
At twenty-two, Matt Tarrington is rich, good-looking and destined to be powerful, but behind that confident exterior lurks a man who resents the life his family thrust upon him. Desperate for an escape, Matt heads to Mirabella Island off the coast of Florida for a year of relaxation and some wild nights with vacationing party-girls.
Matt never expected to find real passion in the arms of Alex Hunter, a handsome, laid-back local.
Alex is gay, but closeted. Matt should be completely off limits, but Alex finds the deeply in denial rich boy too tempting to ignore. Especially when a bet has them working together, fighting the heat in the rundown, beachside cafe where Alex sweats for every dollar.
Their love felt inevitable until youth left them vulnerable to hatred and greed. Now after six years of hating the lies they live, Alex and Matt will have to risk it all for the second chance they both desperately need

Review

This story is one of those where you start at the end, then see the beginnings and come back to the present again and go from there.I always find this tactic to be a bittersweet one, seeing their current situation, then going back to see how good things were, and then now....gah! But it really works for me on the emotion side of things. This way I get drawn in and I am on tenterhooks the whole way through wanting to know what goes wrong and when.
Alex has been living a empty life for the past six years. The only good thing about his life is that he has bought and brought life and success to a coffee shop, Starfish and Coffee. This shop is where he and Matt, the love of his life, got together, and found an unexpected love with one another. Matt was the island's golden boy, rich and spoiled he was looking for an out from his preplanned life of business and shallow relationships.Alex was a closeted gay and their relationship was kept completely secret until something happened that tore them apart. Six years later Matt is gone and has been for a long time, all that is left is a broken heart and an empty existence for Alex.
This story of finding love, losing it and then reclaiming it again is an emotionally charged one. Made especially hard by the fact that these two men are having to hide everything. Neither has outed themselves to their family or friends and as Matt is destined to inherit his father's business and social standing and Alex is the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, there is enormous pressure to stay hidden. The stolen moments between these two are intimate and special and sometimes I really felt like I was intruding on something beautiful. From the initial awareness of each other, to there first interlude ......"You wanna try something different?"....to the moment they thought they might actually like a relationship..."I wanna make this real, Matty," Alex said once he found the ability to speak again. His thoughts were fractured, and his voice was still raspy with pleasure. " Like.....boyfriends, not rent boys. Okay?" and finally the I love you,( perfect day) I was completely drawn to this couple. The sexual tension was off the charts and I was fanning myself throughout just to deal with how explosive and hot these two were together.
Alex and Matt's personalities were just so likable, Alex even though so strong and dominant had a vulnerability about him. Matt who could have been a shallow little rich boy had depth and his honesty and caring nature really won him over for me.
This has been my favourite read of the year so far. I don't know what else I could ask for in a romance novel, but to me this book lacked nothing. Great plotline with an undeniable connection between characters, wonderful visually attractive setting,so well written I could smell the beach I swear.A heart wrenching story so good, that I couldn't help but shed a tear or two. Dammit, I wanted these two boys to have their happily ever after. The secondary characters Holly and Will, who I am hoping we will see again in their own story, were a welcome addition and also well developed. I cannot gush enough about this one.
Kele Moon has a knack for getting that something special in her relationships and transferring it to paper in a way that I feel it. I have enjoyed all of her stories, short or long, but this one is tied for first alongside Beyond Eden.
This will definitely be a book I come back to, I would recommend it to all m/m romance lovers, but especially those who like something sweet and hot.

Packing Heat 18+

The following review is for 18+ readers.

Packing Heat
4 of 5 stars false
Dark and brooding firefighter Brad Archer has spent months denying his attraction to his roommate, Police Officer Gavin Connolly. Gavin is just the kind of guy he likes, tall, tough and buff enough to actually handle Brad’s big size and rough nature.
To hide his real feelings Brad holds the handsome, seemingly straight cop at arms length until a shooting at work leaves Gavin a little too vulnerable to ignore. What starts out as a simple attempt to comfort his roommate blows up into something wild, sexual and wholly unexpected when Gavin wants more from Brad than a strong, firefighter’s shoulder to lean.
The sexual magnetism drawing the two of them together forces secrets to be revealed and though the sex is mind-blowing it may not be worth weathering the storms their relationship could stir up. In order to protect him Brad realizes he loves Gavin enough to let him go. The problem is—The stubborn cop may not let him.

Review

Phew!!This is how good m/m romance should be done, damn!!
I mean a sexy cop and a fully ripped fire fighter, does it get any hotter than that?
The story starts with Brad, trying to help Gavin his roommate, drink off a bad situation at work. Brad doesn't know that Gavin is gay but has secretly wanted him for ages. Gavin who is bi sexual, hasn't wanted to scare Brad away so he hasn't let on about his feelings concerning his hot firefighter roommate.
In his drunken state and in need of certain comforts ;) Gavin caves and finally admits to his feelings and desires.. what ensues is sexy, hot, emotional and hilarious in parts.
I couldn't help but fall in love with these two very alpha men. Brian with his guards up and Gavin with his easy going personality, they really were perfect for each other and their witty back and forth banter felt natural and flowed well.
Gavin huffed" I wasn't courting you".
"I think you were," Bread teased, feeling flattered nonetheless. "It's sort of like a straight man pretending to be gay in order to seem unthreatening and get into some woman's panties, only reversed---- and poorly executed. I'm definitely telling people about this"

For a short read, it was really well delivered.I could totally understand where the problems in their relationship came from. This story had feeling and depth and a certain scene that had me aching for Brian. Kele Moon had done a great job of packing a lot into something little and making it work. Very worthwhile.

A Kiss for Luck 18 +

The following review is for 18+ readers.
A Kiss for Luck
4 of 5 stars false
Dr. Clara Evans' life has taken a turn for the worse. With a failed marriage behind her, Clara has only a bottle of wine and a romance novel for company on New Year's Eve while waiting for the dreadful year to end.Her lonely celebration is disrupted when her best friend Jackson Philips shows up and she couldn't be more delighted. Tall, muscular and handsome, what's not to love about the bighearted firefighter? It's not until she steals a desperately needed kiss for luck at midnight that secret desires and hidden heartaches rise to the surface, igniting an inferno of passion that burns hot enough to overwhelm even the most seasoned firefighter.

Review

This was a super hot and sexy with a good pinch of sweet, perfect.
This is the story of Clara and Jackson and how one kiss, and some good lovin, leads to their happily ever after.
Clara, who is moping at home alone with a bottle of wine on New Years Eve, is pleasantly surprised when Jackson ,her best friend, gets home early from his double shift. A New Years Kiss between the two unleashes secret longings and desires....
A Kiss for Luck is a super quick read but I didn't feel that lacked anything at all. I felt the emotions and uncertainties and understood both characters unwillingness to compromise a beautiful friendship. Both Clara and Jacksons personalities were well developed for a novella and the passion and chemistry zinging between the two was hot. This is how a quick steamy read should be done, loved every minute of it.

Mercy Bound 18+

The following review is for 18+ readers.

Mercy Bound
4 of 5 stars false
Despite wanting her forever, Dray has vowed to protect Mercy, even from himself. Then his mating heat is triggered, leaving only two choices—fuck or die. And luscious Mercy is suitably equipped—and determined—to save him.

 Review

This was a really quick read from author Kele Moon. I enjoyed it, especially when I had just read a ton of heavy reads, this was a welcome change.
Mercy, Dray and his brother Conrad have known each other most of their lives.
Conrad and Dray are Atlantan warriors and were adopted by Mercy's father when their own parents were killed. Atlantan warriors seem to be from a different planet and are a different genetic makeup from humans, though look mostly human.
Mercy is human and has been in love with Dray for as long as she can remember. Dray has also felt that Mercy was his mate, but because of a promise he made to her father feels he can never act on his feelings without breaking that promise.
Things change when Dray is injured and the medicine that the doctor administers to him throws him into heat, and with no other female around other than Mercy, his choices are limited, mate or die.
This is a enjoyable, steamy, little read. I had enough information and storyline, but really this is a book based around sex and love, but mostly sex. I have absolutely no complaints in that, in fact sometimes that is exactly what you need. The characters were good and Mercy with her no nonsense attitude really stole the show for me.
I am giving it 4 stars because it was exactly what I needed.

Beyond Eden 18+

This review is for 18+ readers only
Beyond Eden (Eden #1)
5 of 5 stars false
Three lifelong friends find themselves tangled in a web of love, pain and dangerous secrets in this erotic Garden of Eden tale.
Tall, dark and handsome Danny Carlow has always gotten whatever he wants except for the two he wants more than anything-his best friends, lovers Paul and Eve. Determined, he waits like a snake in the grass, poised for the right moment to offer them a temptation too delicious to resist.
Artist Eve Everton makes the painful decision to leave her true love Paul for the siren call of New York City. Ten years later, with her life in shambles, she returns. When Paul's waiting arms aren't available, Eve falls for Danny's charm and finds herself a willing accomplice in the dangerous games Danny plays.
Former college football star Paul Mattling is now a successful attorney with a bright future ahead of him. But behind those brilliant blue eyes are secret desires for a taste of the forbidden. Will he play it safe or give in to Danny and Eve and bite the apple?
Reader Advisory: Not for the faint of heart, the pain in this story is vivid and real, the emotions even more so. Haunting and poignant, Beyond Eden presents a darker side of BDSM. You might gasp. You might cry. You might find yourself reading it again and again.

Review

***I recieved this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review***
“Can you find beauty in darkness, Eve?" Danny asked.
She nodded. "Yes."
"Then look for it," he said softly.”

This is a book of based around love and its many shapes and forms.
Definitely not for the faint hearted, Beyond Eden is a full on emotional journey into the world of BDSM. It is also a wonderfully dark love story.
That is what I took from this book, the things you do for those you love.
The lifelong loving friendship between Danny Boy, Paul Guy and Evie Girl, is passionate, raw, gritty and real. It may not be traditional, it may have some very dark undertones, definitely not your average love story with marriage, babies and white picket fences, but the more you read this book the more you cannot deny the love between this trio. Danny in particular, with all his secret longings and sacrifices, what he had to become… to me his love for Paul guy is some of the strongest I have felt from reading a book. My heart bled for him.
I didn’t feel this way in the beginning, it did take me a while to see the light, so to speak. But as the story evolves and you get to understand why, you start to understand the balance of things in this S/M relationship. So I guess I am saying have patience with this story if you are feeling anger at a particular character, just keep reading.
These characters and there relationship, is one of the most forceful, brutal, in your face bdsm
I guess I really could see the beauty in the darkness.
This book is a very dark romance and if you are easily upset by any of the themes mentioned I would stay away. The characters we have here are into self harm and inflicting harm and sometimes to the extreme.
If these things do not bother you and in fact intrigue you I would thoroughly recommend reading Beyond Eden. It is an amazing and unforgettable read and it will be staying with me for a while.

Start Crossed 18+

The following review is for 18+ readers.

5 of 5 stars false

As the tide rises against them and the people they love work at keeping them apart, Romeo and Jules hold onto a dream for a better life together and vow to go down fighting rather than accept a tragic ending.

Review

This is the second book of Kele Moon's Battered Hearts Series.
I really enjoyed the first book with all It's sweet sugary goodness, but let me tell you it truly pales in comparison to this modern day Romeo and Juliet tale.
Romeo is a wonderful man, and outsider , considered apart of the wrong family. Having to practically raise his half brothers who just so happen to have the father from hell, son of a New York Mafia head. He has done what he could to keep his brothers safe, and I just loved him for it. I have to admit that I loved Nova more, something about Mafia boys, there is a reason that Michael Corleone is one of my favorite book hero's ever!! But that is another tragic tale. Tino was adorable and I really hope those two boys get their own books.
I did truly love this tale, the two opposing families, Mafia vs the law, how Romeo and Juliet just couldn't seem to stop falling in love anyway.
The sexy steaminess of it all, I said it in my updates but I will say it again, I don't think I have ever been turned on with the idea phone sex, but this book surely did it for me, whoooeeeee! Romeo's and Juliets sex talk was awesome and amusing. Loved the scene with the big boy condoms, that made me laugh out loud, all in all I just wanted to lick Romeo all over and maybe let him lick me too:-)
So I am now eagerly awaiting the next book in this series to be released because this series is awesome.
Also this is just what I was needing, like I said I love books with Mafia boys, family crime, but with a bit of romance thrown in there. That's what I thought I was getting when I started 12 Rounds just recently. But that book just finished when the going was getting good, so this one filled the void really well and since it's still a while before I can get my hands on Ren and Ali's story from KA it will have to hold me over, and I think it will:-)
