Awakening 2

Links: Goodreads Amazon

5 of 5 stars false
The second book in The Lilly Frank series joins Torren and Lilly in northern Italy, where Torren tries to help Lilly adjust to her sensitive new vampire body and win her love before she discovers the real reason behind his interest in her.
A newly made vampire requires a certain amount of time to get used to her new body and heightened senses. But Torren's worried that if Lilly doesn't hurry up, she'll be dead before she ever gets the chance to adjust to life as a vampire.
Word among vampires is that someone's hunting their kind, and it's not a quick death if you're caught. This killer likes to torture the victims first, and all signs indicate that he or she is circling ever-closer to Torren and Lilly.
Torren needs Lilly to stop fighting him and start trusting him. Maybe he shouldn't have deceived her...

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour I was given a copy for my honest review****
This book is the second one in the series and starts with Lilly as a new vampire trying to get used to her new senses. Someone is killing vampires and it looks like Lilly may be the next victim. Torren wants Lilly to trust him, but he is keeping secrets and those secrets could be the death of them both. Do not read this novella if you have not read the first one, you don't have to read it to understand the story, but you do need to read the first one to get the full effect of the emotions tying Torren and Lilly together. This second installment was so good, Lilly trying to deal with her new abilities and Torren feeling helpless was heartbreaking. There are new characters in this one that you will fall in love with and an ending that you won't see coming. I usually have problems with cliffhangers because I am just that impatient, if I don't have the next book I tend to invent expletives and pout. While I did shout a few choice words at the ending, I still loved it and would read it again in a heartbeat. Awakening 2 is a great novella and I can't wait for the next book in the Lilly Frank series.
