A sheriff plus a nurse plus a house equals trouble…
Nurse Molly Harper has had a tough year. But when she decides to regain control of her life, buying her dream house becomes her first priority. Finding the perfect house and falling in love with it—that’s the easy part. The hard part is getting rid of the obnoxious man who thinks he’s going to be the new owner. Even if he is gorgeous. And the sheriff…
Sheriff Luke Logan needs to buy a house. Getting out of the renting game will help in the custody battle for his son, so when the perfect place pops up right on his street, he can’t believe his luck. But there’s already an offer on the table, and the woman won’t back down. Too bad she doesn’t know that he always goes after what he wants, and he has no intention of letting her have “his” house. Even if she does make him feel that he might need more than just a house to make a home…
Review
****This book was part of a blog tour I was given a copy for my honest review****
Bidding Wars is the perfect read for those contemporary romance fans that are looking for a feel good time.
It all started with a house. Molly Harper needs a fresh start after her divorce. Luke Logan wants to own a home to raise his 5 year old son in, once he gets full custody from his x-wife. Both of them fall in love with the house on Maple St. A competitive edge and a feeling of destiny clash and turn into something neither of them saw coming.
Bidding wars was very much the picture of the perfect contemporary romance. While it’s a little lighter than what I usually read, I really enjoyed it and devoured it in one sitting. Luke & Molly were exceptionally well developed characters that you instantly connected to, and cheered for. There was brilliant chemistry between them. The fade to black sex scenes are usually not a favorite choice of mine but it worked in this story, and there was still a slight steam factor mixed in the chemistry. We could have maybe used a little more touch of back story or development of the supporting characters but it’s not something I noticed or bothered me while I was reading, just upon reflection. The pace was fast enough to hold your interest but not rushed that you felt like you just ran a marathon. It followed a predictable format but I loved the whole aspect of the bidding, it made things a little more fun.
