Beast Behaving Badly 18+

The following review is for 18+ readers.
Beast Behaving Badly (Pride, #5)
 4 of 5 stars false
Ten years after Blayne Thorpe first encountered Bo Novikov, she still can't get the smooth-talking shifter out of her head. Now he's shadowing her in New York-all seven-plus feet of him-determined to protect her from stalkers who want to use her in shifter dogfights. Even if he has to drag her off to an isolated Maine town where the only neighbors are other bears almost as crazy as he is...

Let sleeping dogs lie. Bo knows it's good advice, but he can't leave Blayne be. Blame it on her sweet sexiness -- or his hunch that there's more to this little wolfdog than meets the eye. Blayne has depths he hasn't yet begun to fathom -- much as he'd like to. She may insist Bo's nothing but a pain in her delectable behind, but polar bears have patience in spades. Soon she'll realize how good they can be together. And when she does, animal instinct tells him it'll be worth the wait..

Review

This is book number five in Shelly Laurenston's Pride Series and it is fabulous!
Warning!! The characters in this book take some getting used too, they are extreme and take on quite a few characteristics of their shifter animal. If you have not read any books in this series before, I advise you to do so before reading this one, as the world and the characters are special, you really need the full picture from start to finish.

Blayne Thorpe and Bo Novikov met 10 years ago, the end result had a 17 year old Blayne running in fear of her life from a very intense, misunderstood Bo.(hilarious reading moment)
Now they have run into each other again. Bo is just as intense and Blayne still thinks he is a crazy man who wants to murder her in his dungeon.
He was no longer the six-one, two hundred fifty pound serial killer looking sub adult she'd met all those years ago. Nope. He was now a seven-one, three hundred-seventy-eight pound serial killer looking adult
Bo, has a unexplainable immediate attraction to Blayne that hasn't disappeared even though 10 years has gone buy. He has gone on to become one of the most formidable and feared but also best Hockey player in the shifter league. Blayne is an extremely hyper, unorganized, easily distracted plumber by day, roller derby player by night and a friend to all. Unfortunately , Blayne is in some series trouble and we fine Bo stepping up to protect her from herself and from the league of humans that are hunting her for there illegal dog fights.

The storyline more than kept my interest, with action, mystery and adventure. Brilliant characters, old and new show up in this book and they are all just gems!! The Bear community in Maine was a real win for me. Oh and of course, roller derby, what fun!!!

If I had to go on and on about something in this book and series it would be the humor. They are lots of fun and Beast Behaving Badly is just full of laugh out loud moments.
Blaynes craziness, the fact that she is always getting herself into ridiculous situations. Her bubbly friendliness,in my mind I see her like a unstoppable overly excited Labrador. Just, go, go, go with a constantly wagging tail. I am sure we are made to see her like this, like I said the people in these books really take on there animals traits in their human form.
Bo, who shifts into a half polar bear, half lion, is hilariously irrational, he has schedules and lists and loves to be on time, clean. He is really focused, the total opposite of Blayne. This leads to many funny confrontation scenes between these two characters. Just reading each of their inner monologues was a good time. Such vivid personalities really make a book for me.
Shelly Laurenston has done a great job developing a different shifter world, that is interesting but isn't as dark and daunting as some of the books out there at the moment. The Pride series is fun and light, without being flaky. Easy to loose yourself in, highly entertaining, a real winner in my book.

Review

Heather goes to a speed dating even with a friend where she meets Tony; in the first meeting she takes charge and leaves him with a good impression and a serious case of blue balls. The two of them start a relationship with Tony letting go and Heather being in charge. When the company Tony works for tries to buy out the company Heather works for they have to decide if their relationship can work. Heather was a bland main character and her friend was a judgmental, attention seeking floozy for the majority of the story. Tony seemed to have different faces, one was a corporate climber and the other was an easy going entrepreneur, his best friend was a sexist pig. I really liked how Tony changed at the end of the story and I loved him at the end.  There was story beyond the sex and the book was well written. Beyond the fact that the woman was the dominant one in this book, nothing really exceptional happened to make this book stand out. Vanilla on Top is a fast easy read and is perfect if you are looking for a light, fluffy erotic book.
