simonblogtourbanner

Welcome to the Official Blog Tour for Simon by V.A. Dold! This bestselling author is heating up the Paranormal scene!
  simon cover sm

NOTE: Complete novel. No cliffhanger. Dual POV. Rated 18+ for language and strong sexual content. Four years of honorably serving his country has left Simon, Cade’s younger brother, damaged and trapped in wolf form. Little did he know the only person with the ability to heal him completely would be found at home. Literally. Now that he’s found her, he is desperate to claim her. Rose is a beautiful, voluptuous woman with limited experience with men. Although she's confident, she still has reservations. Never having a family of her own, her fear of abandonment has her fleeing romantic relationships, and doubting herself. Travis is insane. A deadly loose cannon that a secret organization hired to destroy the Le Beau family by denying them their mates. Permanently. Simon’s dream will be lost forever unless he is able to maintain human form. Rose needs unconditional love and a mate to create the family she’s always wanted. Travis’s all-consuming drive is to take Rose for himself. Will Simon ever be whole again, able to claim his mate, giving Rose the love and family she so desperately craves? Or will Travis destroy them both?

Review

Simon joined the army to help serve his country, the four years he spent away from those of his kind left him withdrawn and now he stays in his wolf form all the time. Rose never had a family of her own, she doesn't think that anybody will stay. Now someone wants to usurp the Le Beaus hiding in the shadows using other people to achieve this goal, denying the Le Beaus their mates could be their downfall. Can Simon find the strength to do what he needs to to keep Rose. Will Rose find the love she needs and get the family she has always wanted. Can the Le Beau family stop the power hungry forces intent on destroying them? This book is the second book in the Le Beau brother series, this book is an entire novel but I would recommend reading the Cade the first book in the series before this one to get a better understanding of the backstories and relationships. Not only did I really enjoy the first one, I bought this book as soon as it was released so while I was offered a complimentary copy for review I didn't need it since I had already one clicked Simon as soon as I saw it was on Amazon. This was another great shifter read, we already knew that Simon had been in the army from Cades book but in this one we get to see him in the army and his progression into the withdrawn wolf that he has become. I liked Simon and felt bad for the poor guy, he was a strong man that was just a little bit broken and you could see that he would do everything possible to have Rose. Rose was likable character because she seemed genuine, she had a nice soft outer shell that came across as shy but she isn't completely soft, she has this tough girl inside who can take care of herself. I liked how Rose and Simon didn't have that forced feeling to their relationship, they fit together smoothly. On top of Rose and Simons personal problems, a crazy wolf wants Rose for his own after being sent by people who want the Le Beaus out of power. This fast paced sexy book is a good follow-up to the first La Beau book and I'm more than ready for the third book in the series.

Review

****Harlequin Desire via NetGalley provided me with a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review****
Chadwick has spent his life trying not to be his and working at the family company making money only to have his siblings waste it, he has watched his secretary and secretly wanted her but has put it out of his as she is off limits. His life is being turned upside down with a vindictive ex-wife, vultures at the door wanting the businesses and all he wants his Serena. Serena has wanted Chadwick for years but has put her attraction to him in a box and tightly locked it, now out of a long relationship she finds out she is pregnant, sparks ignite and the two of them find themselves wondering if it’s possible to have what you want.  I was on a horror/thriller reading binge for a couple days before I picked this book up for something light and fluffy, when I finished it I just went

It was so sweet that I couldn’t help myself, Chadwick was just so dang adorable at times and then there was the other times when he was getting his sexy on that I had to do a double take because I didn’t think he had it in him, butoh boy he did. I loved Serena, she may have been hard headed at times but I could see that she was trying to do what was best for everyone in each situation and while I sometimes got annoyed with her I still had to like her for standing up for herself. The storyline itself is not a new one, but the way it is written and the little details added to it but it new, you can see how the author adds her own  twists to the story and makes it her own. Overall this was a really good quick read; it will be fun to see what happens with the rest of the Beaumont family.

Fast Track

Fast Track (Buchanan-Renard, #12)

A corrupt congressman, a mother’s secrets, and a sizzling romance ignite passion and suspense in the new novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood.
Cordelia Kane has always been a daddy’s girl—her father raised her alone after her mother died in a car crash when Cordelia was just two years old. So when he has a serious heart attack, Cordelia is devastated, and the emotion is only intensified by the confusion she feels when he reveals the shocking truth about her mother.
Cordelia can’t suppress her curiosity about the woman who gave birth to her, and when she discovers the answers to her questions lie in Sydney, Australia, she travels there to get them.
Hotel magnate Aiden Madison is Cordelia’s best friend’s older brother. He’s oblivious to the fact that she’s had a crush on him for years. When he gets railroaded into taking her along to Sydney on his company jet, he unknowingly puts her life at risk. He’s recently angered a powerful congressman by refusing to purchase overvalued land. Congressman Chambers is not a man to let such an offense slide, and he has the resources to get even and to get what he wants.
In Australia sparks are flying between Cordelia and Aiden, but multiple attempts on Aiden’s life are made while Cordelia is with him, and he realizes he must put a stop to the madness before he loses the thing he values most.

Review
****PENGUIN GROUP Dutton via NetGalley provided me with a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review****
Cordelia was raised by her single father the two of them being really close since her mother died when Cordie was just a baby, but when he has a heart attack and secrets come about her mother she has to find out what really happened. With a new outlook on life, she is also ready to get over her lifelong crush on Aiden. Aiden has always seen Cordelia as one of his little sisters friends, he's helped her and protected her like a sister never knowing that she secretly loved him now he's taking her to Australia with him to help her. Something changes between the two of them while they are over there, with people willing to kill to keep their secrets will Aiden realize what Cordie really means to him? Can they figure out how outsmart and expose all of them? I am a huge fan of Julie Garwood and I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever and that is probably why I was a little bit disappointed. I built the book up so much in mind that I was expecting something more from it than what I got. The writing itself was as always great, I loved seeing characters from her previous books in this one and I would like to read a book with one of the new characters she introduced, hint hint I would love me a Liam book. I liked Cordelia in this book was she knocked through a loop while she was numb for a bit there she still kept going and was trying to do positive things to move on with her life. Aiden was ok, I thought he didn't show a lot of emotion and when you weren't in his head it felt like he was just a blank wall that told people what to do. The mystery was well played as well as the way they solved both Cordelia and Aidens problems. The sex scenes were hot, because Aiden is polished and proper I didn't expect him to be a dirty talker so that was a nice surprise. The two of them had a great physical relationship, but I didn't see or feel that great emotional connection that I am used to from all of this authors other books. Beyond the physical attraction and long history I wasn't really buying the relationship between the two of them. The book was still a really good read, I just didn't enjoy it as much as I have her other ones.

Midnight Lies (Wildefire #2)

 Midnight Lies (Wildefire, #2)
 5 of 5 stars false
The Wilde sisters of Midnight return in this thrilling novel of romantic suspense, perfect for fans of Maya Banks, Allison Brennan, and Lori Foster.
IT’S ALWAYS HOTTER AT MIDNIGHT.
The winds of fate have blown cruelly on a family that once had it all: money, power, prestige. The lives of three beautiful daughters were forever changed when, on a sultry night in Midnight, Alabama, a murder-suicide shattered the Wilde family. The girls grew up to live separate lives but now have returned home, each to face a danger no one can see coming.
Former homecoming queen Samantha surprised everyone by going into law enforcement, but beneath her tough façade lies a wary heart. The tragedy that struck her family is an ever-present reminder that nothing is ever as it seems. When the man she loves, Quinn Braddock, a doctor and Iraq war veteran, is accused of murder, Samantha assumes the worst. Brokenhearted, her confidence shattered, she returns to Midnight. Though exonerated, Quinn still feels the sting of Samantha’s doubt, but he can’t forget his feelings for her and follows her. Soon after his arrival, a shocking murder terrifies the town, and once again, Quinn is under suspicion. This time, Samantha will not turn her back on the man she loves—even if it means walking into a killer’s trap.

 Review

****Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine via NetGalley provided me with a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review****
The Wilde triplets are back! Everyone was surprised when the flirty former homecoming queen Samantha became a cop, but her parents death is still always in the back of her mind pushing her to find the answers and get some sort of closure that she never really received. Quinn is a hot doctor who is just out of an awful marriage, the two of them burn hot and heavy until Quinns ex-wife turns of dead, and he is the chief suspect. Samanthas history scares her, and while she quickly realizes her mistake Quinn isn't so forgiving, his pain over her first lack of trust leaves him lashing out and her going home to Midnight. Quinn realizes his mistake and months later he comes to Midnight for Samantha, but he already broke her heart once so it's going to take some fast talking and a whole lot of begging for him to get her back, if she is even willing. This is the second book in the Wildefire series you need to read the first book Midnight Secrets to get all the background, or you will be lost on certain important issues. I liked the first book, but I loved this book, it had the perfect blend of romance and suspense that kept me glued to my Kindle. Sam came across as a strong woman who could stand up for herself, but she also has this soft side that needs love and attention. Quinn was self assured and strong in his professional life, but his personal life is something different altogether, his first wife messed him up, and he has trust issues that made him act like a jerk at times. Both of these characters strengths and weaknesses made the characters easy to relate to, and it brought the story to life because they seemed so real. The twists and turns in this book kept me guessing at who the real killer was and whom it was surprised me. I loved this book; it was the perfect addition to the Wildefire series, and I will be stalking NetGalley looking for the next book.

 3 of 5 stars false1/2

Will Nate bury his demons for good or will his past dictate his future? Can Delilah rise to this challenge or will Nate shatter her heart…again.

Review

****I was given a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review****
Delilah is a fixer, when someone makes a mess of their life and needs someone to clean up their image it's Delilah to the rescue but she is tired of being referred to as D-list Delilah. She wants to be taken seriously and she wants that junior position, everything she wants is in her grasp all she has to do is fix this one corporate image and the past can come back to bite you in the butt so be careful what you wish for. Reformed hacker Nate has lived his life with the fear that things from his past will come back and hurt him but when a friend calls he can't turn down repaying the favor he owes. Now he must remake himself into a CEO and Delilah is going to help him do it but he left her behind a long time ago. Can Nate finally tell Delilah the truth and finally get over his past or will Delilah once again be left with a broken heart? This was a very enjoyable read, when I first read the synopsis for this story I thought it was going to be something light and fluffy and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't all rainbows and unicorns. There was of course romance and angst but it also has some mystery and a hint of danger that keeps you wondering if Nate and Delilah will get their HEA. For the most part I liked Nate and Delilah there were a couple times when I wanted to shake some sense into one or both of them but they weren't one of those couples who are so annoying that they needed a shovel to knock some sense into them. My favorite character Willow was seriously kick ass, I loved her and I really hope she gets hooks up with one of Delilahs brothers so that she can get her own book. I liked this book it was a good read, a nice start to a new series and I will be keeping my eye out for the rest of the books in the series.

I’m Coming For You
Now Katie must decide whether she wants to fight for her life, or leave everything—including Lucas—behind her forever...

Review

****The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley for my honest review****
Katie moved across the country and has spent the past six years perfecting the art of lying, she keeps everyone at arms length including her twin sister. She does not make friends, and she doesn't date, she just goes to her classes and stays in her apartment. All that changes on one of her habitual ice cream runs when she steps in to save a cat then she is saved by former basketball star and the campus stud Lucas. She doesn't want to let him in, but the attraction between them is undeniable, she won't tell him the truth but when the threats start things start to spiral out of control. Katie has to face her past whether she is ready for it or not, now she just has to figure out if she is going to let Lucas in to help her or if she is going to be all on her own. I really enjoyed the first part of this book, the first meeting between Katie and Lucas sweet, if not a little bit corny that's fine I like that every once in awhile. The few next few meeting were sweet with a little bit of humor thrown in to liven things up a bit, and it kept things from being too cheesy, things are not smooth sailing for the two of them, and there were times that I thought Katie was just downright bitchy for no reason. Lucas was the perfect boyfriend, and I liked him for the most of the story, there were a couple times that I wished he wouldn't have been so dang perfect and would have pushed Katie harder so that the story would have progressed faster and just because I like my heroes to have a little tarnish on their armor. Having said all that the reason I gave this book a low rating was because of the reason that Katie is so closed off and the big reveal. It was a little more than just the big reveal it was how detailed Katie was about certain things was really disturbing to me not because it was graphic content but because of how she described things. Yes, I know vague much but if you read the book you'll know what I'm talking about right away. The writing itself was good so while I may have had couple problems here and there, I liked the story was good and yes the one part was something I couldn't get over but I do like this authors writing style so I will definitely be picking up her other books.

Will their past determine their future?
Saint Ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming of nurse. Focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. She doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. Dark, brooding Nash Donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused. But he turned her world upside down . . . and now he’s trying to do it again.
Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them —or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.
When Nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. Now, Saint has to decide: is Nash worth risking herself for all over again?

Review

****I was a given a complimentary advanced reading copy of this book for my honest review****
Saints life revolves around her work as a nurse she takes care of everyone around her and she does not need a guy who almost broke her in high school coming into her life changing things. Nash's life has been turned upside down, secrets have come out, and he is trying to find out how to deal with them he should not let Saint distract him but he cannot ignore her or the heat between them. Can the two of them get over the hurts from their pasts or will Saint decide that she not be willing risk her heart? This is the fourth book in the Marked Men series and while it is a stand alone book I would suggest reading the other three books in the series first to get the background on the all the characters that are featured prominently in the story. I have not rated this book yet because I'm still stuck on what to give it, I love how the author caught us up on characters from her previous books and introduced some great new ones. Jay does an amazing job at creating these wonderful characters that are each so unique in their personalities that you forget that they are not real people. I was right there with Nash, and my heart was breaking for him for all that he had to endure. Saint was insecure, but this was not your normal level, this was a level so high that she should have gone to therapy. The romance between them was angsty, sweet, hot and frustrating at times. There were several great things about this book that made me love it, but Saint and her actions throughout the book had me putting it down to take deep calming breaths. I was angry at Saint for what she was doing then I was angry at Nash; I loved the book, but I kinda hated the heroine. This book has me all kinds of emotionally conflicted, well done and a great addition to the Marked Men series.

Crownover photo JayCrownoverAuthorPiccopy2_zps37a4d3cd.jpg I'm supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I'm an natural redhead even though I haven't seen my real hair color in years, I'm a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I've been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I'm interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. Thanks for taking the time to check my stuff out..
