Will their past determine their future?
Saint Ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming of nurse. Focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. She doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. Dark, brooding Nash Donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused. But he turned her world upside down . . . and now he’s trying to do it again.
Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them —or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.
When Nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. Now, Saint has to decide: is Nash worth risking herself for all over again?

Review

****I was a given a complimentary advanced reading copy of this book for my honest review****
Saints life revolves around her work as a nurse she takes care of everyone around her and she does not need a guy who almost broke her in high school coming into her life changing things. Nash's life has been turned upside down, secrets have come out, and he is trying to find out how to deal with them he should not let Saint distract him but he cannot ignore her or the heat between them. Can the two of them get over the hurts from their pasts or will Saint decide that she not be willing risk her heart? This is the fourth book in the Marked Men series and while it is a stand alone book I would suggest reading the other three books in the series first to get the background on the all the characters that are featured prominently in the story. I have not rated this book yet because I'm still stuck on what to give it, I love how the author caught us up on characters from her previous books and introduced some great new ones. Jay does an amazing job at creating these wonderful characters that are each so unique in their personalities that you forget that they are not real people. I was right there with Nash, and my heart was breaking for him for all that he had to endure. Saint was insecure, but this was not your normal level, this was a level so high that she should have gone to therapy. The romance between them was angsty, sweet, hot and frustrating at times. There were several great things about this book that made me love it, but Saint and her actions throughout the book had me putting it down to take deep calming breaths. I was angry at Saint for what she was doing then I was angry at Nash; I loved the book, but I kinda hated the heroine. This book has me all kinds of emotionally conflicted, well done and a great addition to the Marked Men series.

Crownover photo JayCrownoverAuthorPiccopy2_zps37a4d3cd.jpg I'm supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I'm an natural redhead even though I haven't seen my real hair color in years, I'm a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I've been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I'm interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. Thanks for taking the time to check my stuff out..

Rome (Marked Men, #3)

 3 of 5 stars false
Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.
Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.
Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

Review

****I was given an ARC of this book for my honest review****
Cora is fun loving pint sized receptionist and piercer, she meddles in everyone else's lives after having her heart broken she only wants the perfect guy. Rome is far from perfect, he is finally home trying to figure out how to fit into civilian life. The two of them aren't what each other were looking, but they are exactly what each of them needs and they are about to find out that perfect is overrated. Rome is the third book in the Marked Men series while it can be read as a stand alone I would suggest reading the first two books to get the background on the other characters, and they are really good. Cora loves her boys, she loves her job, she loves to meddle and when she finds a perfect man she is going to settle down and have the perfect little life. Other than Cora being completely delusional because really nobodies perfect, I liked her she was a sarcastic take charge woman who had her heart broken. She acted like a complete idiot sometimes, but she had a good heart and once she loved someone she was ready and willing to do everything possible to help them. Rome poor Rome he was battling his own demons, at times he may have acted like a jerk but with what was going on in his head I don't blame him. There was one thing in this book that was a huge problem for me, but that was only because it has become a big pet peeve of mine that seems to be happening in a lot of books lately, I know that was vague but to avoid spoilers I'm just going to leave it at that, except to say yes it does have to do with sex in the book. Cora and Rome don't seem like they fit together, at times certain times it felt it a little bit the relationship was forced, and I didn't really understand what it was beyond circumstances that held these two together. I wasn't wowed and didn't get that whole these two people belong together feeling while reading their story. The writing itself is good, the story does pull you and keep you interested, and the sex is hot, it's just not my favorite one in the series.
