Tear (The Seaside #1)

Tear (Seaside, #1)
4 of 5 stars false
Life as a teenager is never easy. But for Natalee Murray, things have just gotten way more difficult. Bored with life, she can't wait to graduate high school and get out of town, especially considering the famous band members from AD2 suddenly start attending her school, making her once boring life, absolutely insane.
It starts with a pen. A single brush of fingers, and she is captivated.
But Alec and Demetri have a dark secret, one that could shatter their reputations and Natalee's heart. What do you do when one guy paints your life with color while the other infuses your soul with passion? How do you choose when your heart is divided?
*This is a New Adult/Mature YA. Minor swearing and drug usage

Review

****I was given a copy of this book for my honest review****
There is something about a love triangle, that if done well just makes a book. I am a sucker for them.
Natalee is a teenager who feels ignored by her parents and pretty much feels invisible. She is bored in her small town literally can't wait to get out of there and go to college.
Things are made interesting with the entrance of two famous rock stars, Alec and Demetri.
When the boys start attending school and both seem to be interested in her, Natalee finds herself in the middle of a love triangle. Secret's, lies and a tragic past stand in the way of everyone finding happiness.
Although this book was YA and brought with it all the angst and drama that Young adult books usually do, I was not put off. Because this book actually felt like it had something else, a bit more feeling. Alec and Demetri were all that I was expecting from teenage rock stars, but there back story and the secret...god, it was torture. I felt bad for all involved.
I loved that this book had a little mini comparison to the most famous recent love triangle of the last few years, Twilight. It gave me a little chuckle, especially because I was comparing the two in my head at the time. Tear was a thoroughly enjoyable young adult, romance. Very well written and paced, I will be checking out more from this author.

To Stand Beside Her
 3 of 5 stars false
To be the best courier in the world, eighteen-year-old Benét Leila follows three simple rules: always work alone, never stay in one place too long, and never fall in love. Too bad she didn't follow her own advice.
Leila is a courier. To the people she takes from, she is seen as a common thief; to the people she helps, she is a savior.
Nalick is your typical king. He's rich, powerful, and always assumed to be right. When Leila crosses paths with King Nalick, she finds herself trapped. In a rush to save her best friend Kay from a prison sentence for a crime Leila committed, Leila trades her hand in marriage in exchange for Kay’s freedom.
Tomboy Leila does not want to grow up, but in three months’ time, she will be married to King Nalick, if Nalick can keep his end of the bargain. First, Nalick must make Leila fall in love with him, a hard task since Leila is not ready to love again after losing her first love to a greedy king. Second, Nalick must keep her safe. He is not the only king trying to hold onto her. Leila has made many enemies over the years, and even more admirers that want her as a prize. Lastly, Nalick must convince Leila that ten years of love is better than a lifetime without. Unless Leila can trust her destiny, she might not reach her wedding day at all.

Review

**** This book was part of a blog tour I received a copy for my honest review****
Leila is a courier with a lot of friends and a ton of enemies, she can take care of herself and manages to get out of sticky situations. When a friend of Leila's gets captured and Leila is captured herself trying to free her, Leila agrees to marry the king Nalick to free them both. This was an interesting book,  the hero Nalick is surprisingly tender and the things he says and does to show Leila how much he cares for her are really sweet. The plot line was original and interesting, the book overall was good it just needs a little fine tunning. I like that the author was going for multiple points of view, but I think that it was to much to often. The transitions between were not as smooth as they should have been and a few times it took me a couple paragraphs to find out what was going on. I also don't understand why everyone was so infatuated with Leila, yes she was great and yada, yada, but really why? There were also some grammar and spelling issues in this book but it's not so distracting that I had to put the book down but a little more editing would help. Despite those complaints this was an enjoyable read, the story itself is a good one and you can tell that the author is talented with words.

Date Me

Date Me (The Keatyn Chronicles, #3)
5 of 5 stars false
I’m not scripting my life anymore.
I’m living it.
I’m done with the God of all Hotties.
I’m going to give my heart to the boy who I think deserves it.
The boy whose kisses are hotter than molten lava.
The boy who offered me the key to his heart.
The boy who asked me to Homecoming in a big, sexy way.

There are so many things to look forward to.
Parties at the Cave. Homecoming festivities. Drama Tryouts. Shopping trips to NY.
But things aren’t always as perfect as they seem.
I find out that my best friend has been keeping a secret from me.
Not that I can blame him.
I have secrets too.
But, for now, I’m going to pretend I’m just a normal girl.
I’m going to pretend he’s not still out there.
I’m going to pretend he’s not getting desperate.
I’m going to pretend I’ll never see him again.
But, I will.
And this time, I might not get away.

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour, I received a copy for my honest review****
Before I get into my review I have to say a huge thank you to Jillian, I got to meet this wonderful author at the Los Angeles authors event at the Sheraton Universal. Besides being a great writer she was friendly and generous, thank you for my copy of Date Me. On to my review, this book continues to tale of Keatyn and like the other ones it is filled with boys, boys, boys. It's hard to summarize this book without writing an ode to all the boys. Keatyn is trying to live as normal a life as possible, she is still trying to decide which boy she should be with along with all the other drama going on in her life. I love this series, it's like reading a really good teenage soap opera. There are hot steamy parts, sad parts, embarrassing moments that had me cringing for the characters. All I can say is once again Jillian has created another winner, with the over saturation of  cliffhangers and series books I have been steering clear of them. However, this series has me well and truly hooked instead of being disappointed and angry with the CH, I want more. August seems to far away for the next book in the series, but if it half as good as this one it will be more than worth the wait.

Allusive Aftershock

Allusive Aftershock
3 of 5 stars false
What happens when a major earthquake changes life as you know it and the boy you thought you hated ends up saving you? Three times!
Courtland Reese is the guy everyone hates and makes fun of because … well, he is weird. He communicates with animals. Strange or interesting, seventeen-year-old Adela Castielle can’t quite figure out, but when he saves her from being trampled by her own horse, she begins to understand him a little better and wants to learn more about him.
But, Max--her best friend/dream guy/someday-to-be-her-husband-only-he-doesn’t-know-it-yet--hates Courtland with a passion. Adela wants to know why, except neither boy is talking.
When Max leaves her stranded in his parents' wine cave with his worst enemy, Courtland, after what the experts are calling a “megathrust” earthquake, Adela starts to question her loyalty to Max as steamy kisses in a dark damp cellar only fuel her emotions with more conflict.
But does she really have time to worry about that when fire, destruction and mayhem surround her?

Excerpt

With no electricity, I could barely make out the two figures standing by the door to the cellar. If not for the half moon, I would not have been able to see them at all. I stepped up to them and realized they were staring up at the sky and my eyes naturally followed their gaze. I had never seen such an awesome sight. Without any city lights for miles and miles, the stars in the sky were unusually bright and plentiful. A truly beautiful sight.

“Wow,” I whispered, standing between Max and Court. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Court’s focus change and he stared down at me. There was something strange about the way his eyes bored into me, as if he could see into my soul. I waited for him to look away but he held his gaze on me while I pretended to marvel at the sky. I’d never seen him stare at me that way before and I got nervous. My fingers fidgeted with each other and I clamped two of them in my other hand to steady them. If I hadn’t known better, I never would have guessed in a million years he had injuries. His eyes stayed fixed on me with an intense tenderness I had never seen from a boy before. Maybe Courtland Reese wasn’t so bad after all. Standing between the two of them in all their glorious hotness had my stomach doing flip-flops. I knew it was wrong to think these things under the circumstances, but maybe my mind just needed the distraction … or confusion. I loved Max, but I was beginning to like Courtland too. Man, I was in so much trouble.

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour, I received a copy for my honest review****
Adela lives in a rural area with her parents and twin sibling, her life is almost perfect, if only her her best friend Max would realize she was in love with him. They have been friends for years, on the sidelines is Courtland, people think he is a freak because he is so good with animals. A huge earthquake happens, Court saves Adela from her horse, aftershocks change everyones lives. When Max leaves Adela alone with Court in a cellar the two of them grow close and their relationship changes. Adela starts questioning her feelings for Max and the new feelings she is developing for Court. I liked this book, Adela started out as a somewhat spoiled naive girl and developed into a smart woman. Court was a hot, sweet knight in shining armor. Max was a jerk, I really hated the dude, he irritated me to no end.  The semi post apocalyptic plotline was interesting and had some very sad moments in it. The romance between Courtland and Adela was cute, the two of them had a lot in common. I really liked the book right up until the end, the ending seemed really rushed and I felt like it didn't fit in with the tone of the rest of the book.  I read it, flipped back and read it again hoping that maybe I had missed something. If the ending had not been so rushed or it had an epilogue, this book would have been a solid five stars. It was entertaining, I liked most of the characters and it was a quick read. I did like how descriptive the author was so I am going to be putting her on my watch list.

The Vincent Boys Extended and Uncut

The Vincent Boys: Extended and Uncut (The Vincent Boys, #1)
5 of 5 stars false
Beau Vincent is rude, bad, and dangerous to know. So why can't good girl Ashton Gray keep away from him? She already has the perfect boyfriend - her town's local Prince Charming, Sawyer Vincent. But Sawyer is away for the summer, and in the meantime Ashton is bored, and the heat between her and Beau is undeniable - as well as irresistible. Ashton is about to unleash her bad girl - but what will she do when Sawyer comes home? And how will Sawyer react when he returns to find his girlfriend in the arms of his best friend - and cousin?

Review

Ashton Gray had been friends with Beau and Sawyer Vincent since early grade school.
Born mischief makers Ashton and Beau had a special connection getting themselves into all sorts of trouble, leaving Sawyer to get them out of it.
None of them wanted anything to change, but of course it does. As they grow up the boys start to notice Ashton change, as boys will. Now a beautiful young woman the boys both secretly yearn for her, but only one steps forward and claims her.
With the relationship between Ash and Sawyer, Beau gets left behind, he doesn't want to see the girl he loves with his cousin and so he follows his own path.
Three years later Ash has moulded herself into the perfect girlfriend of the towns Prince Charming. But Sawyer isn't in town, he is away on family vacation, and while he is away Beau and Ash pick up their friendship, reconnecting. Except this time Ash realises that maybe the other Vincent boy is the boy she should have never left behind, maybe he is the one that understands her best. Maybe she chose the wrong Vincent boy.
"You noticed anything different about Ash?"
The way this story starts out with the boys talking between themselves when they are ten, discussing their concerns over the unavoidable changes that they were about to go through...was just perfect. It truly set the stage for what was sure to be a great story of childhood friendship and love, lost and found.
The reconnection of Beau and Ash was really special, I was excited and nervous the whole time, their relationship felt unique and fully formed right from the beginning, like it was just right.
Thanks for last night. I've missed you. He simply signed it 'B'
I loved how we got both Beau and Ash's point of views, it was great to have the insight into the loneliness and the feelings of want on Beau's side and also the mounting pressure on Ash to do the right thing, but also do what she wanted. Beau truly had loved her from the beginning , you get to see how he accepted her for who she truly was, not who she had become, and of course that was hugely important to the exhausted pretender Ash.
He'd always had everything I didn't have. The perfect parents, home life, but none of that mattered because I had Ashton. Sure, we all three were friends but Ash had been mine. She'd been my partner in crime, the one person I told all my dreams and fears to, my soul mate. Then just like everything else in Sawyer's perfect life, he got my girl. The only thing I'd thought I could call mine had become his.
Beau's character was a classic portrayal of what every girl wants when growing up, the bad boy, the misunderstood boy, with the protective instinct and a heart of gold that beats only for her. Of course my teenage heart (it is still in there!) just melted for him.
This book is hands down the best Young Adult story I have ever read. Abbi Glines, with her characters managed to transport me back to my teenage years, I felt all nostalgic.
Even thought the themes of cheating can be hard to read, this was delivered so well that you really wanted the happy ending for the couple, you knew they didn't want to hurt Sawyer. I was fully involved in this teenage love story and even though I read the extended and uncut version, I would still say that this is an acceptable Young Adult book with nothing to explicit. I have totally not done this book justice, so I will end my review by just stating that I loved it! It is a sweet bittersweet romance and it shouldn't be missed, read it.

Mobster Series

1. Your Mobster series has a lot of violence in it, were you cringing when you wrote certain parts?
The series has a ton of violence. I wasn’t cringing when I wrote it, but I was exhausted after. A great deal of the violence takes place because of unwritten rules and guidelines of the Mafia underworld. You never rat anyone out, whether they’re a friend or enemy.
It is a bizarre code of ethics and it has its own language (jargon).
2. I saw on Goodreads that you want to have 4 books out by September, do you have titles for these books yet?
Out of the four books I have planned to have out by September, only one of them is Mobsters. Right now, I only have one more book planned in that series. Mobster’s Angel is Vito and Erin’s story. It is told from their perspective just like Antonio and Megan story. While writing Mobster’s Girl, Vito’s character takes the shape of sidekick/henchman but grows into something vital and enthralling. I have grown to love him just as much as Antonio. There is something about him that sends shivers up your spine and curls your toes to the point where your feet don’t fit in your shoes anymore. I have received countless FB messages and emails about the couple. The age difference really sparks conversation as readers wrestle with whether or not they find it taboo.
Another book that is scheduled for release is Frosted Over. It is a survival romance. The story is about six people will meet for the first time on a ski weekend and get caught in an avalanche/blizzard. Sparks fly between different characters. They have to learn on the spot survival skills as they face different situations. Libby and Kyle are telling the story. This book is due out in April.
Silencing Joy is a book I started a few years ago. I just never finished it. I plan on finishing it up this year. It is a dark look into the life of young girl who witnesses a brutal beating and that event begins a series of them. Joy is caught in the middle. The genre is romance/action-adventure. It is told from Joy’s perspective.
I am a paranormal/science fiction reader at heart. I watch all types of sci-fi/paranormal/dystopian movies and shows. I am a Walking Dead Fanatic and a Trekkie. I can probably repeat Star Wars verbatim. Another book I have started is called Sybrina. It takes place in the 1800s aboard a clipper ship. The main character, Sybrina, is traveling from America to England. The genre of this particular book is historical paranormal romance.
3. What kinds of things can you do to help out families of the Fallen?
Families of the fallen are military families who have lost a loved one in the war. If someone was interested they could donate to the many of the organizations that support these families, such as the American Gold Star mothers, and the Good Grief camp that supports the children of Fallen Service members. They can volunteer to help maintain monuments and gravesites of the Fallen as well.
4. The Mobster books switch from Megan’s POV to Antonio’s POV, did you have a hard time making both characters got the same amount of time?
I didn’t really pay attention to how much time each character received. I focused on the story and each character’s perspective. However it worked out was how worked out, I didn’t really have a plan.
5. The Mobsters series is an unconventional love story, what inspired you to write something dark and gritty?
My inspiration came from different places. It came from stories I heard growing up. It also came from people I have met over the years. Time and time again, I have learned of situations in which a person rationalized bad behavior or illegal behavior. In Antonio’s case, he is a victim of his own environment but flourishes in it. He epitomizes the criminal hero.
One of my favorite scenes is Antonio punching Dino in church. It shows the paradox of acceptable and unacceptable behavior/actions. It doesn’t matter where you beat the crap out of someone, just as long as it’s not in church. Antonio lives by a mafia code. He has been raised in it for his entire life.

Gripping my chest is the only way to hold myself together or what’s left of me will fall out. The past week has enlightened me on one thing-I don’t care. Megan, Mobster’s Girl I didn’t even hesitate. I took two strides and blasted him in the face with my fist. He was ready for it this time-unlike in church. He tried to hit me back but I ducked and smashed him again. Antonio, Mobster’s Girl You can’t help what family you’re born into or what lies they keep from you. You can’t help it if they mold and shape you just the way they wanted. Are monsters born or made? Antonio and Megan have a timeless issue. They were told to stay away from each other. They try, they really do. But they are drawn to each other. Mature Young Adult YA underage drinking, violence, strong language.

Review

****The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review****
Megan is a red haired white Irish girl living in an area dominated by Italians. Antonio is the mob bosses son, he actively participates in his fathers business, he has liked Megan since her family moved to the area. Everyone has been warned to stay away from Megan, but Antonio and Megan want to be together, their parents can't stop them, at least that's what they think. I am so in love with this book, Megan is shy, cute and has a surprising amount of backbone. Antonio is the hot dangerous guy, but he has this marshmallow center when it comes to Megan. The two of them together is so sweet, they have this sweet relationship that their parents seem intent on destroying. This book was a good fast paced, action packed quick read, there is a cliffhanger, which normally would have me cursing at my kindle, but the book was so good I couldn't be mad. I enjoyed the book and am getting ready to dive into the next one.

A breathtakingly beautiful man is standing right next to me-holding me, reassuring me, protecting me. Antonio is my savior. Having him with me makes the ickiness that’s stuck in my stomach tolerable. Megan, Awakening the Mobster Loving Megan and caring for Erin like the sister I never had is dangerous. These feelings cause you to think. But I was raised, Don’t think, just do! Antonio, Awakening the Mobster What draws and binds people together-circumstance, experience, blood? Can you change what you’re made of or is it predestined? If you fight it, will it just come back to you ten-fold? Antonio and Megan are running. Running away. Megan’s father told them to. Antonio and Megan fly to South Bend, Indiana. They are hiding out at Notre Dame until it’s safe to come home. But will it ever be safe with the line of work Antonio and Megan’s father do? There is no escaping the mob. It’s part of your existence. This is the second book in Mobster Series.

Review

****The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review****
The second book in the Mobsters series takes up right where the first one left off, Megan, Antonio, Vito and Erin are hiding out trying to stay safe. Antonio and Vito are trying to find out who in the organization betrayed them and is trying to kill them. New secrets and enemies emerge as Megan and Tonio get closer, Erin is still having problems dealing with what happened  in the first book. This book is not as fast paced as the first one, it's more focused on dealing with the fall out of the problems from the first one. I don't want to say to much and spoil the book, so I will just say this was a good book. It was entertaining, emotional and a nice quick read. It's not a light read, it still has violence and there is some mystery. There is a cliffhanger so if you read it make sure you have the third book ready.

My soul was drawn to him. It isn’t about the danger or his dark beauty, it’s the connection I feel – the feeling of home I have with him even though I am miles away from it. Megan, Mobster’s Vendetta The mob underworld never changes. It hides itself deep in the cities. The rules, people, and danger are identical no matter where you go. Sometimes I wish things were different, but they're not. Antonio, Mobster’s Vendetta Antonio and Megan have had to overcome severe challenges in the short time they have been together. Things just happen that way sometimes. Circumstance has kept them apart, but their biggest challenge is yet to come. Power, greed, and malice can crush a person from the inside out. Antonio and Megan are in Chicago. Antonio needs to take care of business. Business that includes taking down his Uncle - for good. *MATURE YA sexual content, strong language and violence.

Review

****The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review****
The third book in the Mobsters series starts right where the second one left off, Megan and Erin are now ensconced safely in a casino of a mob boss. Antonio is still trying to clean up the mess and find the traitors, Megan is trying to help her sister get over the trauma. The two of them are having to spend a lot of time apart, they miss each other and the stress of mob life is weighing on both of them. I started reading this book as soon as I finished the second one, this series is really addicting I just couldn't put it down. I loved how the characters seemed to mature through out this book. The ending had me clapping my hands in joy, again I don't want to give to much away. This was another fast paced quick read, the violence is disturbing and provides a great contrast to the sweet love story between Megan and Antonio. This book was a good addition to a great series, Amy has written another book that has to be added to my favorites list. I can't wait to get my hands on Vito and Erins story and will probably beg the author shamelessly for an ARC.

Desert Flower

 4 of 5 stars false
Bodies have a canny way of finding Samantha Jean Haggert—the first, the dead body of her mama; the second, a naked man in the middle of the Arizona desert. For Sam, dealing with one dead body in her lifetime is more than unfair. Two is downright cruel.
Seven years after running from West Virginia, Sam's now a young woman of nineteen, trying to put the pieces of her life together with the help of her family—Jacob, Boone, and Laura. But the naked man in the desert spirals her world out of control, resurrecting past hurts and revealing old secrets. It also pits against one another the two men who vie for her heart: Carson, her friend, her first kiss, and the one man who knows everything about her past and loves her despite it; and Turner, the stranger who knows nothing, but who excites and frustrates her all at once.
When bad choices made as a child lead to more bad choices as a young adult, Sam finds herself at a crossroads, forced to face her demons head-on if she plans to have any future at all—with Carson, with Turner, or with anyone. But fixing the wrongs of the past takes time, and learning to forgive one's self is damn near impossible.
Visit old friends in this harrowing sequel to Desert Rice, in which award-winning author Angela Scott brings back the characters so many readers have loved.

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour, I was given a copy for my honest review****
Samantha finds what she thinks is a naked dead man in the desert, only he is alive.  This is the second dead body that she has found, the first one was her mother when she was 12. Seven years later and she is working towards becoming a veterinarian. She is torn between two men and a past that just won't stay hidden. This is actually the second books in this series and I would really recommend reading Desert Rice before starting Desert Flower, it's not necessary but it helps with Samantha's backgrounds .  I liked this book, I can't pinpoint exactly why, it made me cry and the love triangle was a bit frustrating. However, there was just something there that made me not want to put it down. The emotional depth to this novel was refreshing, the characters have a sense of maturity not often seen in young adult novels. The authors writing was impeccable, the characters emotions leap of the page and I could see the scenes playing out like a movie. Desert Flower is a great book, just make sure you have the tissues ready.

Strength

Strength (Mark of Nexus, #1)
3 of 5 stars false
When college student Rena Collins finds herself nose-to-chest with the campus outcast, her rumor-laced notions are shattered. Handsome, considerate, and seemingly sane, Wallace Blake doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, screaming and banging on the walls of his dorm room. Hell, he doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, period.
Too curious for her own good, Rena vows to uncover the truth behind Wallace’s madman reputation--and how two seconds of contact had left her with bruises. Of course, there are a few setbacks along the way: guilt, admiration, feelings of the warm and fuzzy variety…
Not to mention the unwanted attention of Wallace's powerful, supernaturally-gifted family.
They’re a bloodline divided by opposing ideals, two soon-to-be warring factions that live in secret among us. When Rena ends up caught in their crossfire, Wallace has no choice but to save her by using his powers. Now they’re really in trouble. With war on the horizon and Rena’s life in the balance, he needs to put some distance between them. But Rena won’t let go. If fighting is what it takes to prove her own strength and keep Wallace in her life, then that’s what she’ll do--even if it means risking a whole lot more than her heart.

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour, I received a copy for my honest review****
I have to start by saying from the front cover, I was expecting a totally different sort of book, maybe more romance and passion than mystery .
The beginning of this book starts out exactly like the blurb says, with Rena bumping head first into the chest of outcast and all round mysterious character, Wallace. I must admit with all the nighttime going's on in his room I was thinking this book was going to take a completely different paranormal path, but I was pleasantly surprised. Through Rena's sleuthing, trying to get to the bottom of the puzzle that is Wallace, she finds herself unexplainable drawn to him. The more she digs, the more questions she has.... and meeting Wallace's family doesn't help matters, if anything it causes more trouble.
My favorite part about this book was Rena, I am a sucker for dry humor and wit and she had it in spades. She made the bits that could have dragged in this book funny and entertaining. It was well written, however, I didn't have any heart pounding moments and the actual bad guys at the end seemed a little anti climatic. I mean they were bad, but then were they? You will understand when you read the book, as I don't want to give to much away, but everyone else seemed to feel differently about the circumstances than Rena. Me and Rena were on the same page and freaking out a bit about the future.
Although the cover makes this book look rather raunchy, I will say that this is definitely a Young adult/ new adult book. Nothing really bad in the story that couldn't be read by a younger reader, so don't let the cover fool you.
It will be interesting to see where this paranormal series goes. The powers they have and the development of the nexus bond between Wallace and Rena, has pricked my interest. It was an original concept and as I stated at beginning of this review it was a pleasant surprise to have. I will look for the next book.

I am finished!
Let me just start by saying for me the information overload at the beginning of this book almost put me off. I have found that with a lot of first books in the series that it is like this, but if you push through then things get good. I did and the book did got substantially better, I loved the action and drama of all the games. The character interaction between Leo and Decca had me wondering what was going on and I really liked that.
Then it goes back to a lot of inner monologue and dream memories of Decca and I guess I just didn't like her voice enough to want to just have her.
That seems really harsh, but I am not a big Young Adult fan, I have read and enjoyed a few, but they have to be of a particular sort for me to get into them. I think Decca's voice was a bit to young for me.
There were a few things in the story that I found really cheesy and I feel that it is okay to say this because I read a note from the author and she agrees.Even though I don't feel I take myself seriously and I enjoy a good variety of story's and plots, the names of things and the Z's in all the words really started to put me off.
In saying all this, it is an enthralling story with a world of an different sort. From about halfway through I really got into it and couldn't put it down. I needed to know what happened. Then I got to the end and bam! Cliffhanger, noooooo!! So now I am frustrated, I pushed through the bits I didn't like, thinking I was going to find some answers and now I have to wait. This may just be one cliffhanger to many for me. I will have to see if I read the next one.

Keatyn Chronicles

 5 of 5 stars false
Gossip girl meets Hollywood in this new series by That Boy author, Jillian Dodd.
Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.
She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.
Because really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.
To add to the drama, her movie star mom’s long-time fan has turned stalker.
An older man is flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating a guy like him would mean committing social suicide.
So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.
But little does she know, there’s someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Keatyn has the perfect life on paper, the perfect boyfriend, good friends and popular. In reality her boyfriend always gets drunk, her friends may only like her because Keatyns mom is a superstar and popularity is not all it's cracked up to be. I loved this book, it was funny without trying to be with lots of drama without being to serious. I really enjoyed how Jillian merged the script that Keatyn wrote for her life with the book. The characters ranged from lovable and caring to bitchy and selfish. I started reading this book; before I knew it I was caught up in the story and cared about the characters. There was so much going on in this book, but it wasn't to busy and was really easy to follow. I am a bit burned out on love triangles, but this one was done is such a way that I didn't feel like it was a repeat of other ones I had seen. While I normally loathe cliffhangers I already have the next book so it did not bug me.  I think anybody over the age of sixteen is going to love this book.

I've always written scripts for my perfect life.
But no way could I have ever scripted this.
My life is so far from perfect, it’s not even funny.
All because of a stalker.
I’m at a boarding school where I have to lie about who I am.
I can’t see my family.
I’m tutoring a Hottie God that tortures me with his smile.
The most popular girl already hates me.
But there’s this boy.
This hot, sweet, sexy boy.
So I’m going to stop trying to script my life and just live it.
Because who knows how long I have left.

Kiss Me is the second book in the Keatyn chronicles and starts right where Stalk Me left off, Keatyn is away at a boarding school. She can't talk to any of her friends; she is in a new place and has all new problems. The queen bee of the school hates her, the hottest guy likes her and she still has to worry about the stalker. I was once again sucked into the story that is Keatyns life, but I missed all the characters from the first book. It was nice to get new characters; it just took me a little while to start liking these new characters. The new boy problems were the same as the old ones;  but the new boys were just different enough from the old ones that it was fresh instead of a repeat. I still really liked the book; it was full of humor and showed how Keatyn has grown up a little bit. Jillian wrote another great story with wonderful characters. I want to say more about this book but I don't want to give anything away, so I will just say that this was a wonderful book and I can't wait to read the next one.
