Review

****This book was part of a blog tour I received a copy for my honest review.****
Rook has had a rough life; her mother didn't care about her, she ends up in foster care, her boyfriend abuses and controls her, when she finally gets free, she lives in a homeless shelter where she has to constantly be on her guard. After being fired from her most recent job she spends her last ten dollars on a cup of coffee and while sitting there has a business card thrown at her head. She decides to take the appointment, Antoine the photographer wants her as the model for the Tragic series and Ronin wants her to be his. Rook just wants to be safe and take care of herself, can she do what Antoine want and become ad erotic model? Will she give up her new sense of freedom and become Ronins or will she leave? This book was interesting, it was in duel pov going between Ronin and Rook, it was interesting to see why Ronin did some of the things he did. Ronin was a pretty good male main character, he was young and in charge of a bunch women who were erotic models he had a lot of responsibilites and he them seriously. Rook really was a hot mess, she didn't know what to do or who to believe, she did things she didn't feel comfortable with and felt cheap afterwards because she needed the money. The book was different and I liked reading it, but there were certain parts that I felt were a little overdramatic. Tragic is a good book and I liked the endeing, it will be interesting to see where the author is going to be taking this couple next.

Athena's Daughter

Athena's Daughter
4 of 5 stars false
Seven years ago, Athena Hill made a hasty decision that hurt the two people she loves most, only they don’t know it. Yet.
When Athena discovers she’s pregnant after her blissful summer in England, she isn’t too worried. After all, she and Derek Marshall plan to get married anyway – they’d already be married if it wasn’t for her visa expiring, sending her back to the States to apply for another one. But when she calls Derek to tell him about their baby, a girl answers the phone; a girl who tells Athena that she is Derek’s fiancĂ©e. When Athena’s sister urges her to forget about a man who would use her and then toss her aside, she’s conflicted. But frightened by her sister’s warnings that such a man might also try to take the baby from her, Athena enters into a hasty marriage of convenience with a man she doesn’t love.
Seven years later, Athena is divorced and raising Derek’s look-alike daughter on her own and regretting not finding a way to tell Derek, even if she could reach him. His once fledgling rock band is now a success and he’s surrounded by security, making contact with him impossible. Or so she thinks until the owner of the record store where she’s manager books the band for a personal appearance.
Now she’s face to face with Derek again, and he’s furious. He was never engaged to anyone else and has spent the past seven years thinking Athena ran out on him without a word. Realizing she was played for a fool, and ashamed for keeping Derek’s child from him, Athena knows she has to make right the colossal wrong she committed seven years ago.
But breaking through Derek’s anger at what he thinks was her callous abandonment of him is harder than Athena thought. That anger is nothing compared to his reaction when she finally tells him about his child, and it destroys the loving connection they’d re-established.
Now Athena’s daughter has the father she always wanted and needed, and Derek is overjoyed to have his child in his life. But even though there’s still an undercurrent of passion and desire between Athena and Derek, he still treats her like someone he used to know. Will he ever be able to forgive her for what she did, or have her past actions destroyed any chance of happiness with the man she still loves?

Review

*****The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review****
"With trembling lips she stares into Derek's eyes; eyes that were the same vivid blue as Elizabeth's."
Athena Chandler didn't plan for her life to be what it is today. A 25 year old single mother with a daughter to the man who broke her heart, divorced from a man she never loved in a time when it was shunned. The doubts still plague her about her choices after spending an amazing summer after high school in England, with a man she planned on spending the rest of her life with. She struggles every day trying to provide the best life she can for her daughter Elizabeth while trying to remember the girl she used to be.
What if a miscommunication changed everything you had planned for the future, causing you to lose the love of your life? What if 7 years later you found out you had a daughter? Derek Marshall wasn't planning on a woman that he thought was merely just a ghost that plagued his memories returning to his life, or that she would deliver the news that would change everything. A guitarist for the highly successful band Wolf, his world gets turned upside down when Athena comes back into his life with pictures of a bright blue eyed girl that looks just like him. A chance encounter, the truth and the journey to see if love really can conquer all.
This book makes me want to run out and find more by this author. I knew once I got started I could kiss sleep goodbye and read it from cover to cover in one sitting, not even noticing the hours ticking by. I loved our characters, they were smart, likeable, and very easy to connect with. I caught myself tearing up several times throughout the story, really cheering them on and letting my heart break along with them. This isn't some naive heroine gets swept away and taken care of by some alpha hero. This is real people going through real life. It's the perfect book to curl up and get absorbed in for any romance fan.

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour I received an ARC for my honest review****

Rena and her best friend Blaze find secret these artifacts, she thinks it will be her chance to get to Eden but Blaze gets taken by the people who want the artifacts more than Rena. With the help of Nevan her crush and new friend, they set out to find Blaze. Rena, however, has a secret she can feel the vibrations in the earth and can cause earthquakes with her emotions. This was one of those books that I read the synopsis and thought it looked kind of interesting and different, I was way off, this book went beyond kind of interesting into addictive territory. I loved how the author came up with new words this gave the book a certain quirky uniqueness. Rena poor girl was dealing with a lot and I felt bad for her. The way the author described her crush and feelings for Nevan were age appropriate, she also had problems with learning how to deal with her ability. Nevan was a nice guy and a good balance to Rena. What really made this book was the writing, the author did an amazing job of describing something little that you wouldn't think would matter, but when added all together it creates this great scene. My only problem was I needed more of a back story, there were a few missing elements that left me with a few questions when I was done. Edge of Truth is a great read that will suck you in, have you rooting for the characters and adding a new author to your favorites list.

A Summer to Remember

"Life is really strange. Two events have shaped mine although I am only twentyfour, a successful entrepreneur and owner of my own gallery, Maison des Artistries, in Tribeca. One happened when I was ten: I realized I was in love with my brother's best friend, Paul. The other event happened while I attended Vassar College during my last semester." Jerrica Peterson doesn't believe in fairytale relationships but she does believe in friendship and she has three best friends who will stick by her through thick and thin. Jerrica and her best friends: Talia, Autumn and Savannah bond over a summer of heartbreaks and discoveries, love and scandal, and three unforgettable vacations to Southampton, Martha's Vineyard and Miami Beach. Every moment they spend together will enrich their lives and make it a summer they will never forget and one they will always remember.

The Beach Bar wasn’t merely a place in Westhampton where a bunch of wealthy kids got together and had too much to drink. Unfortunately, it was also home to the locals as well and that meant extra talent to be spotted. I didn’t see anything wrong with having a one night stand with a “townie” as we called them. As long as he had condoms and wasn’t named Guido, we were good to go.
I admit I went overboard trying to convince myself that I didn’t care when Ashley would show up to fawn all over Paul because an hour after we’d arrived, she still hadn’t made it yet.
I had several Absolut shots—in a variety of mango, vanilla and raspberry—before I ordered a Cosmopolitan and began to drink like it was my last night on earth.
Talia, ever worried about me, dragged me to the dance floor and as “Who’s that Chick?” by David Guetta featuring Rihanna began to play, I allowed my body to sway rhythmically and the music transported me far away from my current situation.
Out there on the dance floor, I forgot about my problems and my body took over. I knew men were watching, staring at me with open lust and attraction but I didn’t care about that. All I wanted was to feel good and forget about Paul, not temporarily but permanently.
Funny how life always decided to throw a monkey wrench in my carefully cultivated plan because I hadn’t been dancing for more than ten minutes when I heard a laugh so familiar, my heart felt like it stopped beating.
I stopped dancing but before I could step off the dance floor, Savannah and Autumn had joined Talia to help with damage control.
Come on, let’s get some air. You’re flushed and you’ve been dancing for a while.”
What are you talking about?” I inquired as all three shots of vodka seemed to hit me at once along with the Cosmopolitan I downed like it was water. “I just started and the night is still young.”
I’d almost forgotten about that deep, sexual voice and that laugh until it assaulted me again and this time, it claimed all of my senses.
I could smell his cologne: Ed Hardy’s Born Wild, a fragrance I’d picked up as a joke because this described his bad boy attitude though he was just as privileged as I was and liked to act all tough.
I could hear his voice as he spoke to another young woman, his latest victim of lust and the receiver of all the love and sex he used to provide so willingly to me.
The taste of his body was on my tongue now. So beautiful, creamy and lush followed by a slight fruity aftertaste.
I could feel the lean hardness of his body because like Paul and Jude, he’d also been a swimmer and had their exact body type. A diver, his physique was perfect and I loved the soft skin yet the roughness of his face when he hadn’t shaved and the way his facial hair would tickle my neck and my jaw ever so gently.
The sound of his voice, so perfectly masculine but there was an underlying sweetness and the way he could ease me out of a bad mood by just whispering softly into my ear.
What the hell was Kevin doing here?
Just my luck…what the hell is he doing here at the same place we’re at and why haven’t we left already?”
Talia gave Savannah a warning look before she scurried off to try to find Paul and Jude.
Honey, we had no idea!” Autumn exclaimed as she grabbed me by the shoulders and stared at me with frightened gray-green eyes. “Last time I heard, he was accompanying his parents on a trip to the south of France. He’s not even supposed to be in the States!”
That was definitely a problem about our small circles and who we chose to date and hung out with because there was no escaping Kevin. He worked for the same investment firm as my brother though Jude had no idea what had gone down at Vassar or Kevin’s balls still wouldn’t be attached to his body.
I’d told all three of my friends about the one incident but they didn’t know the fallout of said incident, no one knew except Talia.
I began to hyperventilate before Talia tried to pull me away from the scene but something inside me rebelled. I twisted away from her and marched straight up to Kevin and his group of friends.
My ex looked me over in an appraising manner, his golden-hazel eyes stared me up and down like I was just another piece of flesh and his dark brown hair was coiffed perfectly, longer in the back for a more preppy look. He was immaculately dressed and his left arm was slid around a platinum blonde with a glass of champagne in her hand. She looked me up and down with icy blue eyes before she glanced at Kevin.
Who’s this, babe?”
That sealed the deal. Her strong Australian accent mixed with her tanned skin, perfect body and the proximity to my ex-boyfriend had me seeing red. Who the hell did this Aussie bitch think she was? Obviously she was my replacement but I was determined to not go down without a fight.
I grabbed her by her long blonde hair and twisted it around my fingers in anger. “This cheap skank is who you left me for? After everything that happened to us—to me—this is what I get in return for…all that wasted time?”
Fuck off, Jerrica, and if you want to keep everything in tact, you’ll let Jenna go.”
Suddenly, the whole situation was interrupted by my brother who peeled me off of Jenna and my hand was clutched so tight, I didn’t realize I was holding strands of her fake blonde hair until I looked down at my right hand. I let them go as if they were diseased before I laughed in Kevin’s face.
You’re not even worth it. I wish I never met you and I wish you hadn’t changed my life to the point where nothing will ever be the same again…all because of you!” I screamed in sheer frustration and bitterness. “You ruined me for every man after you and if I was smart, I would have cut off your testicles and turned you into a goddamn eunuch! You deserve it you self-serving asshole!”
It was Paul who grabbed me by the waist and led me away as I collapsed in tears that began to flow whether I wanted them to or not. My heart beat like a piston in my chest and I cried gut-wrenching sobs that wouldn’t and couldn’t be silenced.
Talia walked over and tried to intercept me from Paul. “I can take over. I know what she went through and right now, she needs a friend.”

“I’m sure it was because I’m so charming.”
This made him laugh out loud, showing off his deep dimples on either side of his kissable mouth. It sent her stomach plummeting to her shoes to see the joy in his face. Something he hadn’t had in far too long. As least since his last joust in the human realm when he nearly died…twice.
Derron slid an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close as they walked. She stumbled, falling into him a lot closer than he probably intended. She could feel the warmth of him pressing through to her skin, delighting every sense she had. Her pulse quickened as he leaned toward her and kissed her on the cheek. Disappointment quickly followed when that was all she got. A sisterly peck.
“You are truly delightful, your highness,” Derron said.
“I wish you wouldn’t call me that.” Irritation clawed through her. Mostly because he didn’t take her in his arms and kiss her thoroughly. As though she were the last Fae woman worth kissing.
“Why not? Isn’t that your rightful title?”
“It is, but it’s unnecessary for you to continue to use ‘your highness’.”
“You don’t seem to mind when the others call you that.” Before she could answer, he asked, “Would you prefer ‘princess’, then?”
“No.” She pouted, clenching her jaw tight and trying not to pucker her lips. Still, she was incensed. And he still held her so close she could literally feel his pulsing heart. Or maybe that was her imagination.
“‘Your worship’?”
Now he was teasing her. She flushed to the tips of her pointed ears, her face burning hot.
“Not that either, I gather. How about ‘your grace’? I suppose I could bend the rules of address this once and call you that. Would that do?”
“No.” She punched him in the ribs to get away but he still held fast. “Let me go.”
He stopped walking so suddenly she stumbled again. This time he turned to her, grasped her arms and pulled her close. So close, her hands rested on his chest and she knew for certain she could feel his heart pounding through his tunic. Their eyes locked, his searching hers. Heat flooded her. Something she’d not known…well, ever. And especially for Derron.
It had been much too long since he’d looked at her like that. Ages, in fact. When he had tried to court her and all she wanted to do was run away from him. She’d wanted nothing to do with him. She had been such a fool to reject him. And why had she? She thought she hadn’t been in love with him. How wrong she was.
“Elyne, then. How about I call you Elyne?”
She liked the way her name sounded on his tongue. Oh, he’d said it before. But usually with princess attached to it. Rarely her name. And never looking at her like that.
Her gaze focused on his lips, perfect for kissing. The deep-set dimples on either side. The scruffy blond whiskers shadowing his jaw and cheeks. Neither of them wore their glamour here in the Otherworld to hide their true Fae features. His ears were tipped like hers, his blond hair fell over his forehead in thick waves and she longed to run her fingers through the silken strands.
“You may call me Elyne.”
His gaze landed on her lips, paused, and then lifted back to hers. He wanted to kiss her but he was afraid. Mayhap as afraid as she was for him to kiss her. That would mean they had deep feelings for each other and since they’d made such a mess of things with the broken betrothal, she wasn’t sure where that would leave them.
“Then ’tis what I’ll call ye.”
She blinked in surprise as he released her and resumed walking. For that brief moment, his Irish lilt came out so clear it took her aback. In fact, she couldn’t recall ever hearing it. He masked it so well.
“You coming, Elyne?” he called over his shoulder.
Elyne picked up her skirts and fell in step beside him. “Shouldn’t I be armed as well?” She steered the conversation as far from the two of them as possible. She didn’t want to acknowledge the need and desire Derron had managed to stir inside her. All she wanted to do was ignore it.
“You? Armed? Why?”
“All of you are armed,” she said. “You have a sword and a dagger. And I have no magic.”
“Fear not, dear prin—Elyne. I promise to keep thee safe.”
She snarled at him. Mocking me again. “Are you denying me a weapon?”
“Can you shoot a bow?” he asked, giving her a sideways glance. Even though he tried to keep his face passive, she could see the underlying smirk.
“Nay.”
“Wield a sword?”
“Nay.”
Derron chuckled. “Then, pray tell, what sort of weapon do you wish for?”
She’d never laid her hands on a weapon before but it seemed silly to be traipsing through the Woodlands Forest with nothing but her wits. She would feel much better if she had something within reach. Mayhap some sort of blade she could keep on her person. Something that could replace the fact she had no magic. She may as well be running around naked.
She looked over Derron, noticed the sheath tied to his thigh and knew that’s what she wanted.
“A dagger.” Aye, that would make her feel better to have one. “I know how to use that.”
“A dagger?” He splayed his fingers. “You have any ideas on where to get one? I don’t see Thuluke’s Weapons Shoppe here.”
Her gaze landed once again on his dagger. He put a possessive hand on it. “You want mine. Of course you do.”
“You could spare the dagger.”
“I could, couldn’t I?” Smiling, Derron unsheathed his dagger and handed it to her. “I expect you to take good care of that. It was a gift from my father.”
“It will be safe with me.” She ran her finger along the pearl hilt, admiring the iridescent colors dancing along it.
“Have any idea how to use it?”
Elyne blinked. “Not exactly.”
Grinning, he stepped behind her, wrapped his long fingers around her thin wrist. “Allow me to demonstrate.”
Derron’s body pressed against her back, molding to her easily. With her wrist in his hand, the delicious warm skin pressing hers, it was difficult for her to concentrate on his words.
“Thrust like this.” He pulled her arm back and then pushed it forward. “Aim for the heart. If you miss that, then the neck.” Heated breath cascaded over her nape. His woodsy scent filled her nose.
“Why?” she asked.
“Best way to kill a man, princess. How does it feel?”
Splendid. Though she was certain he meant the dagger in her hand. “It feels like a dagger.”
He chuckled and released her. “You’ll need this too.” He untied the sheath from his thigh. “But a lady, nay a princess, shouldn’t keep that in plain sight.”
“Why not?”
“She is more lethal with a hidden weapon.”
A mischievous light twinkled in his eyes, making her heart do a quick ka-thunk in her chest. Derron knelt at her feet, his gaze still on hers. When his hand went up her skirt and rested on her calf, she nearly came undone. Slowly, he slid his hand along her leg, pushing up her skirt to reveal an expanse of creamy white skin. Her heart throbbed, pounding wildly in her chest and ears. Her breath caught in her throat.
Elyne watched as he tied the sheath to her thigh in the same manner. She’d swear she could still feel the warmth of his skin on it as he secured it in place.
“There. The dagger?” He held his hand up for it.
She placed the pearl hilt in his palm and he deftly slid it into the sheath. All the while keeping his hands in constant contact with her leg.
“That should do it.” Derron rose to his full height.
He had two inches on her, his hair brushing his forehead as he gave her a wicked smile. He knew what he was doing and he liked doing it. She liked him doing it. Why did he touch her so intimately when they’d been at odds for so long? He’d gone to the court to have their betrothal broken and now this?
“Feel better, princess?”
“I—”
But that was as far as she got when an arrow went zooming between them and buried in the ancient oak beside her head.

Excerpt

Tomasz gazed at her, barely able to breathe, let alone speak. Her half closed eyes burned into him. He gazed deep into them for a moment, falling into them, then his attention fell to her hand, still resting on the damp silk mound of her pussy. Her breathing was labored and heavy, her lips, soft and red, parted. His hand cupped the bulge in his perfectly pressed trousers, slowly stroking along the length of its hardness but he couldn't stop.
Her eyes locked onto the movement of his hand. A smile that was halfway between an angel and a slut spread over her face. She looked up and her eyes met his again, hers burning with a fire that held his gaze, and she slipped her fingers inside the dampness of her panties, gently sliding a single fingertip over her still pulsing clit. A soft moan escaped her parted lips like a whispered invitation.
He stepped forward and cupped her face in his hands, gazing even deeper into the post orgasmic haze of the infinite depths of her green eyes. She looked up at him, inviting his kiss, wordlessly, and with her other hand reached for his hand, the hand that was slowly, rhythmically, rubbing up and down the aching need of his rigid cock. She flattened her palm on his and moved with him.
They kissed, no words needed, his mouth on hers, but hers the more powerful, needing to own and control his mouth, her tongue seeking out his. Her hand pressed against his, taking control of his movement now, slowing it so that she could feel how long and hard he was. And he was, so very hard, and long. She wanted that, she needed that, in her, fucking her. She pulled his hand up over his confined erection, slowly, so that they both felt the total extent of his arousal, and then pushed it more forcefully down and out of the way. He complied totally with her direction .He was hers now, hers to play with, to use. The kiss intensified, and her fingers unzipped him, reaching in, finding and grasping him. She felt the wet silky tip of his cock under her fingers as she undid his belt with her other hand, unbuttoning and freeing it so that she could wrap her fingers around the full length of him.
Then he lifted her, his hands on her hips, up onto the tabletop, and pulled himself closer to her. She responded, wrapping her legs around his waist as her fingers eased aside the wet silk of her panties. She guided the moist head of his cock to rub against her clit, still tingling and pulsing, before she slid it lower to rest, achingly, against her pussy lips. She denied him entry, her hot, wet labia brushing, teasing him. Her hand wrapped around him stopped him from thrusting into her, despite his burning desire now to just fuck her hard and fast and unload his tight balls deep inside her. She kept him there, for just a few seconds that seemed like hours to him. She let him enjoy the wet kiss of her pussy lips on the moist tip of his cock, savoring the moment before she let his thickness disappear into her, before she let him become enclosed in the hot, wet embrace of her cunt. She was going to ride him to heaven and he was going to love every second of it.

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour I received a copy for my honest review****
This is the second book I have read by this author and I must say I am impressed. Her style of writing just makes the words flow write off the page and before you know it you are fully immersed in a different place, different characters with different problems.
This book is one of a very serious nature and although in the end it is very hopeful the rest of the book is the downward spiral of one girl into a world of bulimia, anorexia and all in all denial.
Kayla is devastated after the death of her father and unfortunately left with a mother who s very obsessed with looks and dishing out insults wrapped in the guise of motherly love and wisdom. She starts a dangerous obsession with losing weight and making her life better.
At first things seem to be going well and people tell her how great she looks, she gets a boyfriend Cameron and life is good.
But very quickly things spiral out of control and those who were happy for her seem to start judging her. She lives under constant stress and anxiety as food seems to be apart of every decision in her life. She is very quickly disappearing. Will she be able to see the truth before she fades away forever?
I don't know if I can actually say I enjoyed this. It deals with very real and important issues and I applaud the author for writing it from the POV of Kayla as it is happening. Somehow it just made it all make more sense. I could feel her frustration at other people and not understand why they couldn't just let her be. Even though I was sitting there in horror at the things she was doing to herself and her own justification.

I felt for the characters around Kayla as they slowly had to watch her disappearing before there eyes, bodily and personality wise. Especially Cameron, what an incredible guy. Just the type of guy you would wish for your daughter.
This book was stark and brutal with its honesty of what this terrible disease can do to your body. I pray others pick it up, because even though it wasn't the most relaxing book I have ever read, it was definitely moving.

Trusting Again

Trusting Again (Second Chance, #4)
 3 of 5 stars false 1/2
After years of struggling, Cynthia Blaine is finally getting recognition from Seattle galleries and buyers for her designer jewelry. Her life seems to be on an even keel. Her professional life, that is. Her personal life is less exciting than a cloistered nun’s. After a messy breakup with a man who decided he needed a woman who could help his career more than a mere artist could, she’s steered clear of anyone who could hurt her like that again.
Then Marius Hernandez comes into a gallery where she was working. He’s a successful coffee broker; he’s to-die-for handsome; he’s sexy and charming. And he’s very, very interested in her.
Marius woos her on a sailing trip through the beautiful San Juan Islands during which their romance lights up the summer nights. Soon after they return to Seattle, he leaves on a six-week business trip to Central America, vowing he’ll return to her. But just before he’s due back, Cynthia gets a shock. And when she goes to Portland to pour out her heart to her best friend, she has another shock. Marius is in Portland, not where he said he would be. And he’s with another woman.
It’ll take more than a good cup of coffee to get Cynthia and Marius to their happily-ever-after.

****This book was part of a blog tour I received an ARC for my honest review****

Cynthia has already been in one bad relationship with a rich playboy and she is not about to be played again, when she meets Marius she is wants. The two of them go on a sailing trip and Cynthia starts thinking the two of them might have a chance, when she sees him with another woman everything changes and Marius has to work hard to convince Cynthia that she is really the one he wants. This was a good quick read for me with lots of sexy scenes and some serious romancing, but there were a few things that bugged me. Cynthia while it was great that she was outspoken and didn't hide how she was feeling, I think she overreacted to things a little too much. It would have been nice to have a little more back story on how bad her old relationship really was because after awhile her hang ups and insecurities started to get a little bit annoying. Marius had the patients of a saint; he worked really hard to show Cynthia he really cared about her. Overall Trusting Again is a fast  hot read and definitely something romance readers should check out.

Lacy DeGeorgio never imagined she'd have to be responsible for anyone but herself. She's strong, stubborn and fiercely independent. She needs no one. She's a woman determined to do things her way, on her own. But when a freak boating accident takes her sister Hannah's life, Lacy finds herself not only back in her hometown of Lake George, New York, but in a custody battle for her eleven-year-old nephew, Andy. Just when things couldn't get any worse, pesky State Trooper Frank Harmon starts showing up, tearing down all her defenses, making her want things she's never wanted before. She'll trust him with her nephew, but can she trust him with her heart? New York State Trooper Frank Harmon is a man of honor and duty. He's always done things by the book, believing the law always works in favor of those who uphold it. Until the day he took a domestic disturbance call at the DeGeorgio Trailer, and even though he knew something bad was about to happen, he had to walk away. Two days later, he pulled Hannah DeGeorgio's body from the icy cold waters of Lake George, changing his life forever. He sets out to make sure Hannah's killer is brought to justice and in the process makes a home for a family he thought he never wanted.

Review

****The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review. ****
I won't repeat what this book is about because I believe the blurb has done a very thorough job. What I will say as that this was a very enjoyable romantic suspense novel. The storyline was steeped in mystery and intrigue. Although you sort of know who the problem is you are trying to figure out why and what they will do next. I felt awful for Lacy she really was being set up and I didn't like it one bit. Frank was an amazing but troubled gentlemen. He was truly set on the path of making everything right and I couldn't fault him for his honour and integrity. In fact both of these characters and Andy, Lacy's 11 year old nephew, have been left troubled by things in their pasts and the healing they all took in each other was lovely to read about. I felt a whole range of emotions right along with them, hope, anger, anxiety, fear. It is always a sign of a good book to me when it inspires different emotions.
This book wasn't long or drawn out, it was smoothly written with a great flow.
It is the second book in a series and even though I have not read the first one I didn't feel I was missing anything. I am actually looking forward to picking up the first book because this one was such pleasure to read. If romantic suspense is your thing, this is definitely a solid read and I would recommend it.
