1. Your books are very thought provoking and I am sure they make many people look at themselves and ask many personal internal questions, I know they did for me. Do you ever still shock yourself at the things you write?
It depends on what day you ask me. Some days I look at my work and think: "OMG that's so tame." And other days I can't believe some of the things I wrote. Anything with "pleasures" in the title, and I go a little bit crazy, apparently. Though, Big Sky is another one where sometimes I'm like "Yeah, that's no big deal" and other days I'm like, "OMG I'm a freak." LOL It's a really weird feeling your work sitting out in the world because the way you feel about it when you write it is going to be different than how you feel about it when you first publish it and then later after it's been out in
the world for awhile. It's a little bit naked. But it's the job. However, I don't write anything with the "intent" to shock. And that's always something that makes writing the next book more difficult because sometimes I feel like there is this "shock bar" I have to reach. And that's just not why I write. I'm trying to share something through fiction and it's just not about shocking you or freaking you out. If that happens, okay. But it's not the goal or why I write. So sometimes when I write something VERY tame like Awakening... it just isn't received as well. But I LOVE that one.
I don't mean this in a negative way at all just curious.

2. When I read Comfort Food, my heart was pounding in my chest the whole time, shocked and exhilarated I found myself reading bits out to my husband, just to see if he reacted the same or whether it was just me. I ended up totally in love with Master. Do you have a partner that
you read things out too? Are they supportive of your writing style and themes?
Comfort Food is what started all this. I just had this drive to write this book and it was so dark and so emotionally painful to write, and after I'd written it I wasn't sure I could even bring myself to share it with anybody let alone publish it. But I had a friend and beta reader who is a psychologist and she read it and found it fascinating and was like "You HAVE to release this." (It was so funny because while she was reading I was all paranoid she thought I was a total weirdo... and so I kept IMing her and she was like SHUT UP I AM READING! LOL.)
And then M (that would be my husband) read it and thought it was amazing. It was actually the first full-length work of mine he ever read. He liked Master. He would. LOL.
3. Will we ever get a story for the friend from Tender Mercies?
I actually never considered that. Do you mean her friend Lainey, or Asher's friend that he sent Grace to?
After finishing the story I really wanted more for him.
Oh, duh, Kitty... read two lines down and you get your answer. It's like magic! I actually never thought about writing a story for him. Now you've got me thinking. Maybe it'll happen. Generally my books are stand alones because I feel like once a story is done, it's DONE. And a lot of stuff is meant to be left a certain way because of what I'm trying to say in that particular book. But I'm not opposed to writing books about side characters. Like, for example, I have plans for a book for Brian (the trainer nobody likes) from Guilty Pleasures. Trust me, I will make you love him.
4. What is your favourite book couple in your collection? I loved Grace and Asher from Tender Mercies.
All of them. LOL. But it's really almost that bad because I pick one and then I'm like no... what about... Grace and Asher are definitely a favorite. As well as Leo and Faith from Mafia Captive.
I also have a really special love for Juliette (I'm PRETTY sure that's the spelling I used for her name.) and Christian in The Last Girl. Christian is one of those characters that embodies the phrase: "sympathy for the devil". Because I know how desperately he doesn't want to be a monster and how he doesn't want to break his toys.
5. When I think of dark erotica your name is the one that pops in my mind.Who is your favourite author in this category?
hmmm I really like CJ Roberts and Skye Warren. And I'm sure I'm leaving someone out.
6. Which of your books has had the biggest reponse from your readers? Negative or positive and why do you think?
Comfort Food has by far been the biggest reader response and the most passionate. For a LONG time I felt like every book I wrote lived in the shadow of Comfort Food, and it's difficult trying to write a new book when you know everybody is going to compare it to the first thing you released. Particularly when you're ready to move on! I'm not sure what it is about Comfort Food. Maybe it's so
emotionally raw. There were things in my personal life that influenced the book, not in any kind of literal way... but the emotion there. And I think it really comes through on the page as
something very visceral and honest. And I think that's what people are responding to.
So when I write a book, I don't try to "write it like Comfort Food", but I try to get as close to that raw honesty as possible. If a book scares me or is hard for me to write emotionally I know it'll do well with readers.
