Interview with Samantha:
1. What made you decide to write an adult romance novel?

I’d always intended to branch into adult fiction, and after being introduced by a reader to contemporary romance in 2011 and falling for the genre, I decided I wanted to challenge myself to writing an adult romance book first. It’s the best challenge I’ve ever given myself!

2. When you started writing the Warriors of Ankh series, did you always know you were going to have Eden make the decision that she did at the end?
Yes. I knew it would be a difficult decision for Eden but in order to become the kind of warrior she wanted to be, she had to learn forgiveness. She didn’t have to be nice about it (and she wasn’t) but she needed to put it behind her in order to move on with her life.

3. As a self-published author is it hard for you to find good editors?
It is difficult. It’s something an author should research carefully and make sure that the editor they choose has the qualifications to be charging professional editing rates. It’s a good idea to send a sample of unedited work to an editor and have them edit it so you can see their work before an agreement is made.

4. What is your favorite sweets to eat when you are reading a books?
Um… chocolate peppermint creams  I didn’t have to think hard about that at all!

“Catch me,” I laughed and sprinted off towards the towers of Crown Fountain.

“Liz, you’re crazy, you know that!” Justin yelled after me laughing, and I heard the sound of his running footsteps behind me.

“Go get her!” someone yelled after us. “You can’t let her go!”

“I’m trying to!” Justin yelled back, his loud voice echoing through the night. “She’s too fast for me!”

I reached my destination, took off my sandals, and tossed them on the bench by the fountain. The cold water felt good on my bare legs when I jumped into the shallow pool. This is fun, so much fun. I picked up the bottom of my dress, and ran through it, splashing loudly.

Justin approached the fountain and stood there watching me. “Come on, you coward!” I dared. He didn’t move, just stood there, smiling. He looked so tall and sexy in his ripped jeans and t-shirt, breathtaking in fact. I ran up to him and swung my arms around his neck. He laughed and wrapped his arms around me in a tight embrace, it felt so nice. Then he lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist. “We’re the only ones here,” I whispered, playfully running my tongue against the tip of his ear. It felt like it wasn’t just here, but everywhere. There’s only us. There’s no one else, outside of this fountain, outside of this moment. Just the two of us, and it felt so right. “Wanna have some more fun?” I’ll do anything for you.

Grinning, he said, “You crazy girl, we’re gonna get arrested,” but then he moved his one arm underneath my dress, playing with my zipper with the other.

I’m not afraid to get arrested. I’m not afraid of anything when I’m with you. With a slight chuckle, I looked into his eyes. “That would be so cool.” I lowered my head and gently kissed his neck, feeling his breathing quicken. “Who would I call to bail me out?” I looked up and teasingly smiled.

“They’ll let you go,” he whispered, running his hand up and down my back, and placed a light kiss on my lips. “You’re a good, nice girl.” He kissed me again. “Good girls don’t go to jail.” Good, nice girls are boring. I’m not a good, nice girl anymore.

“Maybe I’m tired.”

“Tired of what?”

I looked into his eyes again. “Of being a good girl.”

For a moment he looked at me as if he was considering something. “What are you thinking about?” I asked.

He was quiet, then he smiled and said, “Lean in close. I’ve got something I want to tell you.” He slid his hand underneath my hair and pulled me closer to him.

“What?”

“I love you.” My breathing stopped. What did you say? “I love you, Liz,” he repeated, his voice a whisper in at my ear, melting my heart. I love you more.

“Yeah? How do you know?” I whispered back.

“I just know.” His hands traced slowly over my back again. “You make me happy.”

“I love you, too. I love you so much.” I love you more than life itself.

Review

Belle is a beautiful person, who is a little scarred by past events in her life.

She finally jumps back in the dating game after a few years only to realise that she has jumped into it with the wrong person, Miles. Things get more complicated when she meets Miles's brother Jack, and they have an instantaneous magical connection. This first meeting does not end well for anyone; misunderstandings, bitterness, hurt feelings and rejection ensue.

What we don't know is how this pair are going to get back together, how they will avoid the mortal danger they find themselves in and how they will right a 200 year old wrong.

This is number five in Kristen Ashley’s Ghost and Reincarnation series, so when you start this book you have to know you have to leave your skepticism at the first page. You are about to escape into a romance book that is really more like a modern day fairy tale, with "wee ghosties", evil spirits, curses, witches and souls reincarnated and attached to present day characters.

Our main characters of the story, Belle and Jack, are worthwhile characters, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute with them and watching them fight there feelings and fall in love, no matter what hurdles were thrown there way.

Ashley is known for her amazing heroes and they are usually of the “alpha” variety, but I have to say Jack was the perfect balance of strong man, gentleman and protector.

Belle was one of those “beautiful soul” type characters with a lovely presence, so often a heroine can let a romance down for me, but not in this case. Belle was very special and I felt and instant connection to her character. I was very glad to see the return of some already seen characters in this series and the introduction of some interesting new ones. I hope to see them again if there happens to be more of this set written.

As I always find in her books, Ashley’s secondary characters are amazing and her books just wouldn’t be the same if she didn’t make them as solid and real as her primary ones.

The plotline was great, and as always I felt totally absorbed in the story, it was a real escape from my own life. Whether this was to do magical fairy tale qualities of the book I don’t know, I just know I enjoyed it. The many twists and turns in the book surprised me and I was guessing what was going to happen right up to the end.

If you are not normally a lover of the paranormal when reading romance I would ask you to try not let that turn you away from this book. I suggest giving it a try because it is written in such a way that you are more focused on the romance and the characters than being bogged down with paranormal jargon.

It is quite simply a wonderful romance novel, very sweet, very enjoyable.

Becca has a really bad day; she gets fired because of budget cuts and comes home to find her boyfriend moving out. She can't find another job, she goes to her sisters’ apartment and while in the bathroom her sister submits her resume to a college in Oklahoma. Becca gets called for an interview and her sister decides that while there they need to go to a rodeo. At rodeo Becca meets Tuck, they have a one night stand and neither one of them can forget about it. Becca takes a job at the university and they meet again at a party being thrown for Becca. Becca and Tuck start a relationship that has to be kept secret since both of them work for the university and there is a no fraternization rule. They have to decide what they are willing to risk to be together and if their relationship is worth fighting for. Becca is pretty, smart and introverted, she loves her job and does not want to do anything to jeopardize it. Tuck is a mans man, he is in the army, rides bull and drives a truck. He wants to be with Becca but he doesn't want her to get fired. This book was sweet love story, it wasn't deeply emotional but it did have a nice interesting plotline. It showed a few things that some men are willing to sacrifice to keep a woman. Parts of the book were a bit disjointed and didn't really fit together; it seemed to jump around a little. Overall this was a nice quick read without a lot of drama, I liked the characters and plot line, and I want to know what happens with the other characters so I will be reading the next book in the series.

Wow, just wow. Sector 4 is my kind of place and the O'Kanes, are definitely my type of people.

What a lucky, lucky girl Noelle is, she gets kicked out of Eden, where everyone lives a strict conservative existence, straight into Sector 4 and into the protective arms of Jasper. Jasper (said in a sexy husky sigh) I adore him, I want to do deliciously bad things to him, and if you read this book you will probably want to too. I don't think I will ever (EVER) listen to the word "open" again without having a mini orgasm.

OH MY GOD!


Whenever I think of how to describe Sector 4, I think where the wild things are and essentially this is a accurate statement. Gangs, alcohol, sex …compared to Eden the Sectors are gritty, raw, dangerous… but very real. Eden equals step-ford wives in my book, a false boring existence that would drive you crazy.
This has to be one of my favorite dystopian worlds I have come across. I kept on comparing it to Stacia Kane’s downside series, which is one of my favorite urban fantasy series, because of it’s grimy and dark feeling, I loved it! And to top it all off it's an erotic book, it about makes it perfect.
Be warned I am not exaggerating; this book is heavy on the steam, with some scenes that are not for the faint hearted, phew!!!
So many things about this story appealed to some wonderful place inside of me. However, the O'Kanes and their strange wonderful little "family" was probably my favorite. Bringing to my attention human natures need for family, and out of necessity and in the absence of a real one, these band of misfits have come together.
All held together by a very intriguing man, Dallas. Can't wait for his book!
Kit Rocha had done a great job introducing a new fascinating world, without bogging us down with too many details. It is obviously going to be a series, with a different couple in each book, which is just fine with me, I have been getting sick of all these trilogies with there cliff-hanger endings anyway. (No I lie I love you all, just write faster, please). She has also carved her own niche into the genre of erotic romance. It is in a world of its own, literally.
The only complaint I have is that I have to wait to read the stories of the other amazing characters that I met and fell in love with, Kit Rocha I am sending good luck writing vibes your way.
P.S. I did not know that this was an alter ego of Moira Rogers, who's books I also love, these are just dirtier and edgier, yum!

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

Forget ET, I want a LUXAN to crash land in my backyard.

What a fantastic beginning to a new series, and with a new paranormal edge. I don't believe I have read a book quiet like it.

The characters were great, Katy was realistic and I loved how she wasn't a simpering miss, crying because the hot guy gave her crap. She totally gave it back to him,then went home to cry into her pillow.( I mean come on who doesn't?)

Daemon, was a total jerk, but as the book went on it was great to see how torn he was in trying to keep away from Katy but still ending up on her doorstep. Love it!

On top of that, the story of the Luxan's, their powers, how they came to be on earth, the fact that there actually seems to be some sort of or real Men in Black, (DOD)and then the evil Arum. I didn't want this book to end.

It is a really great, different Young Adult Novel. Obsidian is a highly entertaining, really well written, easy to read story with likable characters and a good plotline. I will be continuing on with this series.

Althea owns a failing art gallery, she is has a boring life, with a boring boyfriend. Steel comes to the gallery and once he sees Althea he wants her, to pose for him and in his bed. He rents space in the basement to work on his sculptures, they get close and Althea starts to see a new side to herself. Althea was stuck up, indecisive, rude and in denial a lot of the time. Steel was surprisingly bland, he was supposed to be this bad boy but he just came across as a bully at times and other times he faded into the background. I don't know what happened, the set up was so good and the beginning was hot, then nothing. There was no real story line, the couple just had a lot of sex. Some of the sex scenes were degrading and seemed borderline abusive. The rest of the sex scenes were boring and I found myself zoning out while reading them. I did not like this book.
