Forbidden Angel

Forbidden Angel
5 of 5 stars false
When captured by the Nazi's, Sarah finds herself in a concentration camp that not only brings her closer to death...but closer to love.
Sarah Brenner, a young Jewish woman, is terrified when she finds herself in the heat of a railcar bound for a work camp in Nazi Germany. For years she, along with her mother and sister, had hidden from the SS, but no one could hide forever. Her hatred for those who have enslaved them is ever-growing, especially when they arrive and she encounters the shockingly handsome Nazi doctor who can’t seem to keep his eyes—or hands—off her.
Aurel Rothstein is not your everyday concentration camp physician. The endless prisoners and lack of care he's allowed to give have made him numb to the work he so coveted. It isn’t until he comes face to face with a beautiful prisoner that his heart becomes involved with his job—a forbidden and fatal move to any Nazi.
When a vile soldier takes direct interest in Sarah, she will be forced to make a choice that will change her life forever: ignore the pull toward the handsome doctor or give in to the forbidden passion he awakens with only a look. Either way they both risk everything...

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour I received a copy for my honest review.****
Aurel is a Nazi doctor who has emotionally distanced himself from his work, Sarah is a young Jewish woman sent to the concentration camp. The two of them are fighting a forbidden attraction that could be the death of them both. This book is incredibly good,  the author managed to take a situation that was heartbreaking and turn it into something filled with joy. This book had me crying at the utter helplessness of some of the situations and the things that the characters had to endure. Underneath it all there was hope and a sweet love story. Forbidden Angel was a wonderful read that packs an emotional punch in it's short pages.

The Adventures of being a mom and writer.

As a child I always wanted to write. There were multiple times in my teenage years where I tried to sit down at the computer and write a book. All of those times were (sadly) unsuccessful. It wasn't until after my son was born and only a few months old that I realized 'Hey, I can do this!' Some people have asked me just how it's even possible to be a mother, a writer, a student, an editor, and not to mention friend and family member to the people who are important in my life. The answer is simple really, though I wish I had a complicated answer for this question to make myself sound like the ultimate time-management specialist. My son is almost five now, (needless to say the journey to being published is on a rocky, pot hole-filled road, lol) and I found that it was having him and everything else to do, that forced me to sit down and get my butt into gear. Anything worth having (in terms of career choices) won't be easy to receive and working hard for something is the best and most rewarding part. It's knowing that I did it, in spite of all of the obstacles in my way. It was rough, but I made it through, with more books to come later this year. I am so pleased to be sharing my debut novella with all of you and hope you will take the time to check out and bring your fan, because things are going to get hot! ;-)

Extreme Love 18+

The following review is for 18+ readers.
Extreme Love
3 of 5 stars false
New body. New clothes. New men.
Used to the average Joe, Caitlyn Moore is overwhelmed when the supremely masculine Dante Jones walks into her life and expresses an interest in her. At first she pushes him away, refusing to encourage the attention of a cage fighter. Then she learns Dante has a love ‘em and leave ‘em reputation. What better way to fine-tune her non-existent flirting skills than with a male who won’t stick around? But Dante has no intention of being a practice dummy; he’s out for all or nothing. Now Caitlyn must accept Dante—violent career and all—or let him go.
Dante “Inferno” Jones has one goal: win the Welterweight Championship. At a time when focus is crucial, the last thing he needs is a distraction. Yet Caitlyn Moore becomes a challenge he can’t resist. When the light-hearted pursuit shifts to a battle to win her heart, his focus is shot. Faced with losing the biggest match of his career, Dante must decide if his extreme life also has room for Extreme Love.

Review

***Arc provided by Netgalley for my honest review***
Caitlyn Moore is certain that a man like Dante "Inferno" Jones would never look at a girl like her and like what he sees. Therefore when he shows interest is at a complete loss of what to do or how to react. Did I mention that she has just lost 80 pounds?
Never has Dante wanted a woman more, nor has he had work hard just to get a girl to speak to him. Being a professional MMA fighter means he has had woman throw themselves at him. But there is definitely something about Caitlyn and he wants all of her he can get.
Sexy front cover, check.
Exciting and steamy sounding blurb, check.
Did this book live up to my expectations, sadly no.
This book had the promise, it had me excited, everything about it is what would normally have been giving a 5 star rating.
And it would have been if not for Caitlyn. I wanted her to listen, I wanted her to alter her own assumptions on how the world worked, who should be with who.For a person fighting peoples assumptions on overweight people, she was very judgmental of others. She was also very harsh to Dante and I felt he didn't deserve all the negative treatment. The story would have flowed very nicely if not for these things. These two had an awesome chemistry, Dante was a wonderful alpha persona, with a protective heart of gold. I loved how he couldn't put aside pursuing Caitlyn until after his fight, he was a man caught, I really enjoyed his character.
The "villains" in this story, Dante's opponent and his ex girlfriend would have added enough excitement to this book. I guess it is just another case of me personally not understanding the actions and thoughts of a character. At least she grew through out the book I will give her that. No harm, no fowl, I have seen lots of very positive reviews for this book, but because of my personal issues I only liked this one, instead of loving it.

Leo 18+

You must be 18+ to enter this contest
 Leo (Sign of Love, #1)
4 of 5 stars false
Evie and Leo met in foster care as children and formed a bond of friendship. As they grew, their bond turned to love and they vowed to make a life together when they turned 18 and were no longer a part of the system.
When Leo unexpectedly gets adopted as a teen and he moves to another city, he promises Evie that he will contact her as soon as he gets there and come back for her in a few short years. She never hears from him again.
Now eight years later, in spite of the odds, Evie has made a life for herself. She has a job, she has friends, she's content. Then a man shows up out of the blue, claiming that her long lost love, Leo, sent him to check up on her. The attraction between them is undeniable. But, should she trust this sexy stranger? Or is he keeping a secret about what his connection to Leo is really all about and why Leo disappeared all those years ago?

Review

****The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review****
Evie grew up in foster care, Leo was her rock and when he was adopted he promised to come for her when she turned 18, he never did. Evie is now an adult and has learned to forget about Leo until a stranger starts following her and tells her Leo is dead. The two of them start a relationship, but Evie can tell this man is hiding something from her. When everything is revealed Evie has to decide if she can forgive all the lies and secrets. This book was so good, I really liked the character Evie, she has made a good life for herself. She has an apartment and two jobs and she is happy, grounded and really down to earth. Jake is the rich good looking man who comes into Evies life and tells her that Leo is dead. They make a sweet couple and I like how their relationship was not based solely on sex. The sex between the two of them was flaming hot, the author can write some great love scenes. Both of the main characters do make mistakes and some of them seem to be more from lack of communication more than anything else. The twist towards the end was interesting and my heart broke for Jake. One of my favorite parts of this book is that it does not have a cliffhanger, we get our HEA without having to wait for however many more books. Leo is a good read, great characters the writing is wonderful and the plotline is interesting and keeps you glued to your kindle.

Date Me

I’m not scripting my life anymore. I’m living it. I’m done with the God of all Hotties. I’m going to give my heart to the boy who I think deserves it. Parties at the Cave. Homecoming festivities. Drama Tryouts. Shopping trips to NY. But things aren’t always as perfect as they seem. I find out that my best friend has been keeping a secret from me. Not that I can blame him. I have secrets too. But, for now, I’m going to pretend I’m just a normal girl. I’m going to pretend he’s not still out there. Excerpt

I push Damian's number and, as usual, he answers right away.
"Keats, what's up?"
"A friend just showed me your video. The new song. It's really great. Catchy. She already has it memorized." I sing, "Be a rock star. Be a rock star."
"I've been wanting to call you. I'm sorry I haven't. You should've been the first one to hear it, since you inspired it with all your drama this summer."
"It's good to know my screwed up life is so inspirational," I say sarcastically.
"Hey, you're the one who told me people could probably relate. And you were right. We performed it one night just to gauge the crowd's reaction. It was nuts. They were singing it with us before it was over. And the label's not stupid. They knew we had a hit on our hands, got us some studio time, and we recorded it quickly. We released it a week ago and it's already hit number two in Japan."
"And there are over a million views on the concert video. Damian, I'm so proud of you. Where are you anyway?"
"Helsinki. We have a show here tomorrow night. That will round out the European tour. We'll be doing some promotional stuff, maybe get some studio time, then back at it in Japan. How's it going there?"
"I'm doing good. I'm dating a guy. He's really sweet . . ."
"Not to interrupt but I think I'm going to be in Miami soon. Special gig. I'll let you know. It'd be great to see you. I miss my Keats."
"I was your Keats before anyone else's."
He clears his voice. "You talk to him much?"
"I did something stupid, Damian. Vincent almost found me."
"What did you do?"
I tell him about the surf tournament.

"That's it. I'm kicking his ass."
"All that I just told you about Vincent and that's what you got out of the story? That you need to kick B's ass?"
"Yes. I'm definitely kicking his ass. And if I do Miami, it will be a very last minute surprise-the-audience thing. Not planned like Brook's tour. I really want to see you. What are you doing for the holidays?"
"I don't know. I haven't really thought about it yet."
"I think you should go to The Crab." The Crab is our secret name for their house in St. Croix.
"Could I? Will your dad be there?"
"No. Marissa is pregnant again."
"Awww!"
"Yeah. It's a boy this time. She wants to name him Rain."
"Well, his sister is named Stormy. I guess that would fit."
"He'll get his ass kicked on the playground with a name like that. Why can't they name him Lightning or Thunderbolt or something tough?"
"Speaking of names. My sisters got a dog like Buoy. They named her Kiki."
He laughs out loud.
I miss making him laugh. I miss him.
"My dad told me about that. All I have to say is Kiki must be one patient dog. I heard the girls painted her with pink and purple paint, then poured glitter all over her. When Tommy got pissed, I took him aside and told him that Kiki was sad because she didn't have pretty tutus or glitter shoes and they wanted to her feel pretty. They're so funny. Everyone says they are going to have to call you Buoy when you come home." He stops laughing and is quiet for a minute. "I miss you, Keats. Everyone misses you."
"I miss everyone too. Garrett doesn't think I'll ever be able to go home. But I'm doing okay, Damian. I'm starting over."
"That's bullshit. If this goes on much longer, screw Garrett, you and me will figure out something together."
"Like old times, huh? You helping me write the scripts of my life?"
"Exactly. So hey, we have a morning radio interview in a few hours and I haven't even been to bed yet."
I hear a girl's voice in the background say, Baby, hurry up.
"Who's that? Damian! Do you have a girlfriend?"
He laughs loudly and then whispers to me. "More like groupies. Touring is awesome."
"Then I better let you get back to that."
"Actually, I was just getting ready to leave. I really do need to get a few hours of sleep. Are you sure you're doing okay, like really?"
"I think so."
"Any guys giving you shit?"
"I love you."
"You're avoiding that topic. Does that mean one already is?"
"No. It's more like the opposite."
"A guy is treating you too well?"
"Yeah, maybe."
"Maybe you should marry him," he laughs. "No, wait, you can't. We're already married."
"It will be easy to annul. We married under false pretenses. You told me you were a prince."
"Only because you wrote the script and made me wear that girly crown."
"True, but I also cast you as a frog because hopping around like a maniac and singing songs was something you were actually good at."
"Are you saying I wasn't a believable Prince? You've just dashed my dreams of winning an Oscar."
"I'm saying you played a much better frog." I hear the girl whine again in the background. "Case in point," I say and hang up.

Cult of Beauty 18+

The following review is for 18+ readers.
Cult of Beauty: The Secret Life of a Supermodel
http://s.gr-assets.com/assets/layout/stars/red_star_1_of_5-b4f31bcf18f50bff0c3a01406b1f0edd.png
Supermodel Katie Wolfer takes a call from her stepfather as she steps off the Dior runway in Paris: her mother has died. As she struggles to move forward with her now-parentless life, two men loom large for Katie—Gavin Poole, a hot, emerging fashion designer with an inability to commit, and her charismatic, wealthy French stepfather, Daniel de Goncourt. Katie becomes entangled with both of them, exploring her darkest sexual desires amidst a lavish, decadent lifestyle.
Deeply erotic, thoughtful, and thrilling, this fashion model’s fictionalized memoir is sure to arouse and intrigue you.

Review

**** I was given a copy of this book for my honest review****
To say this book was not my cup of tea would be a slight understatement, from the synopsis of the book I was expecting a great smut book. It started out interesting with Katie finding out her mother had died, she leaves the fashion show that had just ended and gets ready to fly home. She gets home and that's were the book lost me, she lusts after her dead mothers husband, then she proceeds to have sex with everyone. By everyone I mean her stepfather, stepsister, best friends brother who we find out she hooked up with on the plane ride home and one of her stepfathers friends. All this would not have bothered me if there was an actual story behind it, Katie seems emotionless, she doesn't care that her mother is dead. She does drugs and seems ok with the fact that the men around her use her, none of the characters seem to have any emotions either. I honestly don't know what to make of this book, it's smut but for me it wasn't good smut.

 Stuck on You
4 of 5 stars false
If being forced to team up with reality TV’s favorite bad girl wasn’t enough, falling for her brother might just make this reality show a real nightmare.
Paige Anderson agrees to be on a new reality show called Treasure Trekkers, a show where contestants use handheld GPS units to find hidden caches filled with prizes, with her good friend Cassidy. But when Cassidy is unable to compete, Chip Cormack, the show’s producer, steps in with a last-minute replacement to be Paige’s partner—Zoe Oliver, reality TV’s favorite bad girl.
Jack Miles (aka Miles) is a mountain climber with the body to prove it. Miles convinced his climbing partner Ben to come on the show with him for one reason—to prove to Ben that they can still hike together, regardless of the fact that Ben lost his foot in a tragic accident. Miles isn’t about to let anything get in his way of winning—not even beautiful Paige.
But when Miles and Paige are thrown into an alliance with their teammates, working closely together leads to more than just good strategy. Can Paige steal Miles’ heart while surviving Zoe long enough to win the game?

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour, I received a copy for my honest review****
Paige is going to be on the new reality show called Treasure Trekkers she was supposed to be competing with her friend Cassidy but when she has to back out Paige gets stuck with Zoe. Zoe is the bitch queen from Falling For You and Paige hated her. When Miles and Ben show up Paige finds herself attracted to Miles and a whole new game is started. This book was entertaining and filled with humor, I just got finished reading Les Miserables again so this was book exactly what I needed to get out of my book hangover. Paige is sweet, caring and seems to have grown a bit of a backbone since we last saw her. Zoe is once again selfish and catty, but she does has little instances where her softer side comes out. Miles comes across as brisk as first but once you get further into the book his personality really starts to shine and you can see what a great guy he really is. I did have a problem with Paige wearing high heals the entire time, I love heals and could run a marathon in those suckers but there is no way I would wear them hiking or repelling down a cliff. The sexual tension in the book added a little mystery to the book, will they or won't they was present a lot. This book was an enjoyable read light and fluffy with tons of adventure. I really liked the book and can't wait for the next one to come out.

Belong To You (Cole Novel #1) 18+

The following review is for 18+ readers.

Belong To You (Cole, #1)
4 of 5 stars false
My honeymoon was almost everything I dreamed it would be, a tropical paradise, turquoise water, romantic walks on the beach, and loads and loads of mind shattering sex. The only thing missing was the groom.
After seven years of coasting through a relationship with Michael, my senses were numb. A week of passion with a stranger was just what I needed to clear my head and take back control of my life. But how do you move on when the man that was only supposed to be a fling somehow seeps into your soul and steals your heart?

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour, I received a copy for my honest review****
Syd is on her honeymoon....with her best friend, not her husband. That is because two months before her wedding she broke up with her boyfriend of 7 years, tired of living someones else's life and not following her own dreams.
On her exotic holiday surrounded by beautiful beaches and romantic settings, she meets Jack, a gorgeous, mysterious man and under the encouragement of her best friend embarks on a harmless, sexy fling...or so she thinks.
Jack, however, may have other ideas. His immediate attraction to Sydney is unlike anything he has ever experienced before and this sexy playboy's passionate and domineering personality might just have to find a way to wheedle itself into Syd's life permanently.
I really enjoyed both these characters from the beginning to the end. As soon as Jack entered the pages and he uttered his very first words to Syd, my belly was all a flutter.Which is a good sign when reading a erotic romance book :)
This book is the first in another couple series, that involve a mysterious sexy millionaire playboy having a sexy affair with an ordinary woman, and their sizzling connection. You know the type I am talking about, I don't have to name, names. After reading so many of these type of stories you would think I would be bored of them...wrong! I thoroughly enjoyed it, so it just shows you no matter how many times a certain theme or plot line is done, if its done right it can still be good.
The initial meeting of this couple, there connection was electric. Jack and his bossy, dominating, alpha ways was just the way I like my male leads to be.
The initial setting of their romance and the wooing was lovely, who doesn't like the idea of a holiday romance?
This was a comfortable read, meaning it flowed, but I wasn't really shocked or surprised by anything that happened along the way. It very much followed the same pattern or formula that we have seen before, just maybe with a little less intensity. This was of no consequence to me because I liked the characters and storyline enough, it held my interest, and when reading I was excited to know how the couple work out....and guess what??? No, cliffhanger!!!
Belong To You is a sizzling, steamy little read and I am looking forward to the next book to see how Syd and Jack move forward.

Innapropriate Thoughts 18+

The first in a new erotic contemporary romance series, Inappropriate Thoughts is a scorching mix of desire, sex, love and slightly inappropriate comedy. Jillian Grayson is a disillusioned divorcée and best-selling romance novelist who can't write a chapter without her hunky male heartthrob suffering ED, an STD, or even worse. Brian Nash is a tennis-obsessed, college senior who's unlucky in love and the roommate and best friend of Jillian's son, Rob. When Rob brings Brian home for spring break and he meets the surprisingly young and also tennis passionate Jillian, their shared interest quickly develops into an intense mutual attraction. After nearly giving in to their feelings, they hatch a plan, while under the influence (of something more than just the perfect Miami night), to be friends with "partial" benefits complete with rules to define the boundaries. Will the lonely pair continue with this distinctive relationship, actually explore their desires or will they discover all of it is a really bad idea?

Excerpt

Jillian Grayson sat up in bed, typing away on the keyboard of her laptop computer. She wore a nightshirt that wasn’t all that sexy, but what she was typing was… or at least it started out that way...
Dallas lay in bed, unable to sleep and wondering if Katrina was suffering the same fate—and for the very same reason. Did she want him as much as he wanted her? Katrina was but a few steps away, yet he dare not go to her, for he was a guest, and then there was Katrina’s mother, who was just across the hall. For Dallas, sleep came minutes later, but it would be short- lived, for soon Katrina stood over him, completely nude and pondering how to proceed...
Dallas must have been in a deep sleep, since he didn’t feel it when Katrina peeled the sheet carefully off him, exposing his muscular body, six-pack abs, and sizeable manhood. She quivered when his impressiveness sprang into view. For a long time, she kneeled next to the bed, just studying his body and savoring his scent. Taking his sex into her hand, Katrina worked it until it was rigid while she watched him sleep. When Dallas woke, he looked into her eyes, swallowed hard, and whispered, "I’ve been waiting for you."
Just as fast as his sex expanded, it lost its firmness and flopped against his leg. Katrina looked down at it in disappointment and then moaned in frustration. "What’s wrong?"
Dallas said sheepishly, "Sometimes that happens to me. Sorry. Ever since I cheated on my wife with that whore in the pool, I haven’t been able to—"
Jillian stopped typing and thought she might be heading in the wrong direction with this. How did her ex-husband get into the story? But then again, most men are assholes, she thought.
Picking up the glass of wine from her nightstand, she took a long sip and then replaced it. She highlighted the last paragraph about Dallas’s problem, hit one key, and it was gone. Just like his boner. She laughed out loud.
Jillian wasn’t exactly in the correct frame of mind to write at the moment, especially on this particular subject. She stared straight ahead and wondered about the likelihood of Dallas slipping in the shower, striking his head, and dying instantly. Or maybe an earthquake could strike, and Dallas’s amazingly perfect body would be trapped under a giant beam.
What the hell kind of name was Dallas anyway? She thought she might want to give her character a real name like Stewart but figured no one would believe that a guy named Stewart could give you six consecutive orgasms in one night.
What was she doing, anyway, writing novels about people having amazing sex when she’d never had any? Okay, maybe once or twice twenty years ago, but none since then. She had no right. If people knew that she was the one writing these books, they wouldn’t buy them. She was a fraud.
Jillian picked up her wineglass and took another long drink. She grinned, wiped those unhelpful thoughts from her mind, and started typing again...
Katrina took his sex in her hand and worked it until it was rigid. As she studied it closely, Katrina noticed two red bumps on the underside of his pathetic excuse for a penis. She recoiled in horror—
Jillian hit the backspace key to erase everything after Dallas’s "sex" started expanding. Romance novels about erectile dysfunction and STDs weren’t exactly big sellers. She closed the lid on the laptop and tossed it gently onto a pillow at the foot of the bed. She emptied her wineglass with one last sip and turned on the television.
Jillian Grayson wrote under the pen name of Jaclyn West. She’d written fourteen bestsellers so far and had more money than she needed flowing in, so her next novel could wait. The book royalties had paid for her large, beautiful house in Miami. She still had plenty of money, even after the divorce, which forced her to part with nearly half of her earnings to her bastard ex-husband.
She’d never forget the day she came home early from a book tour and found George performing oral sex on that slut in the pool, the pool she had paid for and an act he rarely, if ever, did for her. Jillian always thought he hated oral sex or, more specifically, he hated the giving part. But there he was, naked, standing in the shallow end of the pool, and going to work on some other woman as she floated in the pool on a ring, which Jillian had also paid for. The pool oral sex thing actually looked like it might be kind of fun, and Jillian often wondered why George had never once tried that on her.
That day, when Jillian spotted them from the second floor balcony off their bedroom, she had watched for a little longer than she’d care to admit. Maybe that was because all her erotic romance writing had left her desensitized to sex, at least a little. At first, it didn’t seem real; it was as if she was visualizing a scene for a book, not watching her husband cheat on her.
When she finally came back to earth, Jillian left the house and went to the side of the pool. She snuck up on the adulterous couple and stood there until the woman being serviced noticed they had an audience. The woman tapped George on the shoulder to get his attention. When George turned around, he had a guilty look on his face that Jillian would never forget. Jillian wouldn’t let the naked woman back in the house to get her clothes. She simply threw the clothes out the door. The woman was forced to get dressed outside and shamefully leave through the back gate. George went into the house, got dressed, and left through the front door. It was the last time he ever set foot inside.
Jillian didn’t cry that day; instead, she put on a pair of kitchen gloves and retrieved the ring float from the pool. When her attempts to drain the float of air through the valve seemed to be taking too long, she stabbed it ten times with scissors. That could possibly have been overkill, but it did the trick and gave her a much-needed outlet for her rage. Jillian called a company to have the pool drained, scrubbed, and refilled at the cost of fifteen hundred dollars. It was worth it, she thought, because she would never have been able to dip a toe in the pool until every last drop of that contaminated water was replaced.

EXCERPT

She backed herself into a corner, keeping her eyes straight ahead, and her chin high. Ale leaned against the opposite wall and hooked his thumbs on his belt loops. The longer he stared at her side profile, the more she fidgeted — checking her watch, gripping her bag, glancing up at the ceiling. If she were going to give him a hard time, he’d at least have a little fun.

“How do you plan to leave? If I recall, we drove here in my car. Yours is back at your sister’s.” He smiled triumphantly.
She favored him with half a glance before setting her gaze on the control panel. “I’ll call a cab.”

“No one is going to give you the number to a cabbie, on my orders.” She gave him a chagrined smile. “There’s an app for that on my iPhone.”

His eyes fell to her bag and he lifted his brows. “I’ll wrestle it away from you.”
“Ha! After our last fight? You wouldn't dare.”
 Wouldn't I?”

Being reminded of his literally crushing defeat at the hands of a woman would've normally irked him, but he remained unbothered. In fact, the thought of another round with the pretty spitfire intrigued him. She gave him a slitted stare, and he responded with a wide grin.

“You have some nerve.”
“Actually, you don’t know the half of it.”

The memory of their kiss exploded in his brain, his blood pounding in his ears and racing throughout his body, warming muscles stiff after a long day’s work. Her eyes widened a bit, and he wondered whether her thoughts mirrored his own. Maybe they do…

Existence

Existence (Existence Trilogy, #1)
4 of 5 stars false
What happens when you're stalked by Death? You fall in love with him, of course.
Pagan Moore doesn't cheat Death, but instead, falls in love with him.
Seventeen year old Pagan Moore has seen souls her entire life. Once she realized the strangers she often saw walking through walls were not visible to anyone else, she started ignoring them. If she didn't let them know she could see them, then they left her alone. Until she stepped out of her car the first day of school and saw an incredibly sexy guy lounging on a picnic table, watching her with an amused smirk on his face. Problem is, she knows he's dead.
Not only does he not go away when she ignores him, but he does something none of the others have ever done. He speaks. Pagan is fascinated by the soul. What she doesn't realize is that her appointed time to die is drawing near and the wickedly beautiful soul she is falling in love with is not a soul at all.
He is Death and he's about to break all the rules.

Review

Pagan has seen spirits her whole life, and has learned the benefits of just leaving. She has gotten so used to their presence, floating in and out of her life that when one starts following her and then starts speaking to her, she is needless to say , a little freaked out.
Then she gets into a car accident and things start to get scary, she survives but she doesn't know how. All she knows is another soul starts following her around talking , looking at her strangely, a boy at school who would never look at her before is acting very, very interested and the soul that she has been seeing and talking to her has shown up at school as a very real person. Pagan thinks she is going crazy, however she is very drawn to Dank and now he seems to be protecting her from things she doesn't understand and acting very possessive of her. What does he want and why won't he tell her who or what he is?
I am a fan of paranormal romance, but I have never read a book where Death was the love interest, so I was very intrigued when I read the blurb for this story.
Pagan, was an interesting character and her ability to see spirits gave her that extra little something, something, instead of just being the plain human girl that a supernatural creature becomes enamoured by. Dank, well I just loved him and of course wanted him to get what he wanted, which was Pagan. There were quite a few unexpected things happening in this book, Leif, Pagans boyfriend, especially was an odd ball that I was deeply curious about. Something just seemed..off about his character and then the last line of the book gave me a sort of answer. It also left me thinking, very well played Miss Glines, you left me satisfied because, no there isn't a cliffhanger, per say. But there is a very big, fat, tease at the end of this book that has made reading the next book an absolute necessity.
It was great to see an immortal being in trouble and how even the powerful have to answer for breaking the rules of the universe.
This was a great Young Adult story, with a original paranormal plot. I am very interested into seeing where this series will go and I will definitely be reading the next one.
