Rebecca Zanetti

Rebecca Zanetti wrote her first story when she was six – a romance between a princess and neighboring prince. The princess fell out of her castle and the prince rescued her. A happily ever after was had by all. This theme of romance has been carried through Rebecca’s works until present time. While today’s heroine may have a medical degree, black belt in Karate and her own 401K, she’s still after that happy ending. And today’s prince may have fangs and wear a black hat, but hey, a modern princess likes a guy who bites. Rebecca attended Pepperdine University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a Political Science emphasis. While there she worked as the Editor-in-Chief of The Graphic newspaper, a member of the Pi Phi Sorority and an intern for President Reagan, who still gave 3-5 speeches a week, even though he was no longer president. After college, Rebecca worked as an art curator and a Senate aide before heading to law school, where she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho. She married Tony Zanetti in the middle of her second year of law school and became pregnant with their first child during the third year. She graduated law school, gave birth three weeks later, and took the Bar Exam three weeks after that. All she remembers about the bar exam is that it was so quiet in the testing room, she thought about taking a quick nap. But she continued on, passed the bar and became a lawyer. She worked for a large firm, then a small firm, then the county while also teaching legal classes at her local community college. Now she writes romances about vampires, cowboys, and soldiers. Growing up amid the glorious backdrops and winter wonderlands of the Pacific Northwest has given Rebecca fantastic scenery and adventures to weave into her stories. She resides there with her husband, children and extended family who inspire her every day. Rebecca has completed several manuscripts, winning award throughout the writing industry for her work. She is currently writes the Dark Protector series for Kensington Publishing, the Maverick Montana series for Entangled Publishing, and the Sin Brothers series for Grand Central Publishing.

1. You have traveled to quite a few places, what has been your favorite so far and what did you learn while you were there?
That’s a tough one! I learned that people in Russia are just like people in Australia, who are just like people in Idaho—the majority are kind and open. Also, the walls of subways in Russia are beautiful with stunning paintings, FYI. And, if you’re going backpacking around Australia, it’s wise to take your karate instructor with you, especially if he’s a cutie.

2. What are your thoughts on people using ghostwriters?
I think ghosts should be able to write just like anybody else. Just kidding.
Well…I’ve never thought about this question. I guess I don’t really understand why somebody would use a ghostwriter or why someone would want to be one. (Note that I’m not insulting anyone here, I just don’t get it.) If you write a book, why not put your name on it? And if you didn’t write a book, why put your name on it?

3. Is Twitter still confusing to you or have you figure it out?
LOL! To be honest, I feel like a bumbling dork on Twitter. Maybe I need more words to make sense than a tweet allows, because I do better on Facebook. But I’m doing my best.

4. Does everyone in your family read your books? If they do, does it ever make you blush when your aunt for example asks you how you came up with a certain sex scene?
Most of my family reads my books, and I don’t blush much about the sex scenes. However, my hubby gets asked once in a while if he’s the inspiration, or if he acts out the sex scenes, and he may blush a bit. Of course, on him, a blush looks tough.

5. Who were your favorite authors growing up?
Growing up, I was a Carolyn Keene (Nancy Drew Books) and Julie Tatham (Trixie Belden books) fan. But, when I turned sixteen, I snuck into my mom’s bag of books and found one of Nora Robert’s MacGregor romances, and I was hooked for life. From that point on, it was romance for me all the way.

6. What are your favorite comfort foods?
I guess I should only list a couple here, right? For comfort, I like Macaroni and cheese, pizza, and ice-cream. Definite comfort foods, I’m pretty sure!
Thanks again for having me over today!

CONSTANT DANGER On the run from a mental institution and her vindictive half-brother, it’s safe to say that Sarah Pringle’s happy life as a schoolteacher is on hold. Too bad that as far as self-defense goes, “run and hide” is the best she’s got. Max Petrovsky is right at the top of the list of alpha male ass-kickers. And he knows exactly what Sarah’s up against.  Maggie is a wolf shifter who was captured and experimented on by the Kurjans. Now that a cure has finally been found for shifters (although not for vampire mates or witches), she can concentrate on creating a new life for herself and finally accepting that her memories are gone forever. Most memories, that is. Sometimes in the hazy world between dreams and dawn, she hears a Scottish voice, dark and deep, that sounds suspiciously like wolf-shifter Terrent Vilks. A man she happened to anger by kidnapping a few years back. Hey, it was for a good cause. Terrent Vilks knows more than he’s let on for the past several years. After digging for answers, he knows exactly why the demons want Maggie dead. And he remembers his past with Maggie…very well. She is finally where he wants her. Now all he has to do is discover what exactly the Kurjans did to her, beat the demons into so much submission they leave her alone, and get her to fall in love with him. Again. Good thing he’s used to wrangling monsters.

Jase Kayrs was the fun brother. The warm, charming, easy-going brother of the vampire leaders. Until he was taken and tortured by demons with their evil mind tricks for nearly five years. Upon his return, he’s dark, violent, and not the man they all thought they knew. Not the man he once was. He’s haunted that the only reason the demons would have let him live was to use him as a weapon against his family—but he can’t figure out when or how he’ll explode. Plus, once again the demons are after Jase with a vengeance…or rather, a female demon he rejected is out to destroy him. Then the king asks Jase for a favor…a big one. To mate with one of their allies in order to save her. She’s everything that’s good and light in the world…while he’s at home with darkness. Yet he agrees…knowing mating may be the only chance to save them both.

Opposites don’t attract. They ignite. The small Montana town near the Kooskia reserve seemed like the perfect place for Juliet Montgomery to hide from her not-so-law-abiding family. Clearly, he needs to do a thorough investigation to uncover what’s beneath Juliet’s uptight, city-girl exterior—preferably one piece of clothing at a time.  Untitled (Sins Brothers 2)- Coming December 3rd 2013

Post by:

  1. People want to know who is writing the book they spent good money on!

  2. For me I would want to know who wrote the book

  3. Thanks for the post and interview! I have several books by Rebecca and will be reading my first this month.

  4. I think using a ghostwriter works when you're famous for reasons other than writing and you need help with an autobiography. Other than that, it doesn't seem to make much sense.

  5. It would be fun to have an actual ghost as a ghostwriter, right? Hmmm... I'm thinking a new series here. LOL!

  6. I don't have a problem with ghostwriters one bit!!

  7. hm... I have no idea... I guess when celebrities write books they need to have a ghostwriters... other than that what is the point?
