One fateful night would change it all – Someone ritualistically slaughtered a guardian in one of her Gates, leaving Raven lying in a pool of blood. Ordered to find the killer before she dies along with her precious guardians, Raven is placed in a race against time, being forced to enlist in the help of a Human FBI paranormal agent. Together they must stop the serial murders before an ancient war reignites – and Raven loses everything, including a new found love, all to a jealous half-breed …

Review

****This book was part of a blog tour I received a copy for my honest review****
This was a really interesting introduction to what I am sure will be a interesting new paranormal series. Raven is an oddball, outcast by her parents and not really at home anywhere unless with her Murder. She is the Protectress of the Nine Gates of Yggdrasil, but unfortunately she finds herself in a precarious situation where all of her Guardians start being murdered. If she doesn't find the killer, she may die as each death makes her weaker.
I liked this book I really did, anything with a different paranormal twist always makes me happy and From Hel with Love definitely has that. Vampires, Fae creatures, Witches, Gypsies, Lykens, Shifters, Gods and Goddesses I mean the list goes on and on. In the beginning of the story my head was spinning, with all the different names and creatures. I soon got into the swing of things only to have more names given to me, this started making me a little dizzy.
This was my only problem with the book, I felt that there was an over abundance of information given to me to digest. Now, I know this happens with all of initial books in a series, but maybe some of it could have been given to us later....maybe in the next book. I felt some characters were introduced only for them to do nothing and other bits of information that I would have liked more of wasn't given, like Ravens 600 year training and the spider nightmares. I liked all the characters, the snippets we got of them, they were interesting. Both teams that is, the RIPA team and Raven's Murder.
The attraction between Duncan the leader of the RIPA team and Raven was a spontaneous one, and with both of them fighting it with their own personal reasons it made watching them come together fun.
I liked both teams working together to fight the evil attacking the guardians, and I was very sad to see the result of the Fae Queens manipulations.
I will be interested to see where this story will go from here. Although I wouldn't call the ending a cliff-hanger, it definitely wasn't a conclusive ending, more of a calm before the storm. Can't wait to see where this motley crew of paranormal beings go from here.
