Jennifer Domenico
Jennifer Domenico started writing as a five-year old child in the back of her mother’s bible in church. It was a way to keep the fidgety child quiet but even then she took simple stories and twisted them into even more imaginative tales. As she grew, the stories grew with her and she filled notebook after notebook with her musings.

As an adult, she knew she wanted to be a writer but she lacked the attention span and inspiration required to produce a full length story. Eventually she put away her notebooks and turned her attention to the business world where she toiled away for many years.

She stopped reading fiction, stopped entertaining her outlandish imagination, and stopped dreaming of being a writer. Until one day, many months ago she went to sleep and a beautiful love story played out in her dreams.

When she awoke she felt compelled to write it down. And she wrote and she wrote, for days and days she wrote. The result is part one of Enzo and Ava’s story. Turn Towards the Sun is her first, but certainly not her last, novel.

Ms. Domenico lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her very Italian husband, a dog that adores her, two cats that tolerate her, and wicked sweet tooth. She is currently working on part two in the series.

Interview
1) How is the corporate world different than the writing world?
At first, I saw a vast difference between the writing world and the corporate world. My first few books were simply writing as therapy - something to do after spending 30 years in Corporate America. But then I realized quickly just how competitive this evolving market is!! I was naive enough to think, "Okay - I wrote a book. Hopefully readers will like it and then I'll write another and yadda, yadda yadda. Well - WRONG! Indie authors are responsible for marketing, social media, and keeping your readers interested in what comes next! There is a plethora of very talented Indie authors out there, and more joining the ranks on a daily basis so you damn well better be on your game! Unfortunately I've also discovered that it can be every bit as "political" as the corporate world. I guess that's the only downside. I thought I was done with that once I left ______.

2) These Men is a spin off novella of the G-Man series, do you plan on having more of these?
You know, after I finished with the G-Man series with the novella, "G-Men Holiday Wrap" that was pretty much it. I tied up all of the possible loose ends I could find because so many readers still needed some closure. It was a fun read, and I thoroughly enjoyed writing it. I then saw comments about various readers wanting more of Eli and Cain's story after the wrap, so when this opportunity approached with contributing to the 8-author novella, "Bend" with such awesome ladies of erotica (Shay Savage, JA Huss, KI Lynn, K. Bromberg, Ella James, Alessandra Torre and C.D. Reiss) I thought it might be a perfect fit for a 'spin-off' story involving Eli, Cain and the yet unknown Paige Matthews - Easton and Taz's younger sister.
Having said that, I have no plans to do any further spin-offs of the G-Men Series.

3) What is your favorite part about going to events and signings?
I love meeting my readers! I was so humbled at the NYC event, Authors in the City because it was really the first major event I attended, and the first time that I had ever been to the Big Apple. I couldn't believe the turnout of readers. I loved that many of them had created a page in their scrapbooks just for me with my books on them and wanted me to sign them! One attendee told me that I was the reason she bought a ticket for the event! I was so humbled. I would have to say the interaction with the readers is the best thing ever!!

4) When you write a book do you write it in order or in pieces as it comes to you?
Both. I never outline a book because honestly? I don't KNOW how it's going to end. I know the basic premise/plot, but while writing, so many other ideas evolve that I wouldn't have thought of in advance. Book #3 in the Baby Series, "Be My Baby" was the only book so far where I actually started in the middle, and then had to go back when it was 2/3 finished and write the beginning! To date it is my favorite book, and when I look at the ratings on all books in both series, it has the highest average rating of any. (Maybe there's something to starting a book in the middle - LOL!)

5) Which one of your series took you longer to write G-man or Baby?
G-Man Series probably took a little bit longer to write in totality. But if you look at the combined page count on both series, Baby Series HAD way more pages! I wrote Maybe Baby in six weeks and it was over 800 pages! Like I said, it was therapy for me and I really hadn't thought about publishing it until someone mentioned how easy it was to self-publish. So, of course I did and learned a LOT of lessons after that one!! It has been a very learning experience for me!

6) What is your favorite comfort food?
Microwave popcorn. It's a ritual with me. Every night, as I relax and unwind, I nuke one of those 100 calorie bags of Pop-Secret.

One last thing before I go - I am working on the first book in my next series which I plan to publish in mid-summer. The title is "Silent Whisper" and I'm stepping into a new genre with this! I'm so excited! The book is a bit paranormal (ghosts) time-travel and of course, there will be romance! The main character, Parrish Stephens will be the constant in the series. She is a 27 year-old model with a . . . gift. And it's not a gift she's particularly happy about!

G-Man Series

Thirty-five year old Samantha Dennison sends her only child off to college and finds herself generally feeling F-R-U-M-P-Y and lost. Her loveless marriage to 'the mannequin' has become intolerable; her daughter and best friend have both advised 'Sammie' to get a life of her own. Her husband has his own agenda which does not include her. Sammie finally heeds their advice and takes pole-dancing lessons to get into shape and develop self-esteem, but it serves to do much more than that! The thrill of the dance and sexuality she discovers within herself is a potent mixture. She gets a part-time job as a dancer in an Indianapolis Gentleman's Club called Jewels. She becomes the dancer known as 'Diamond' and very quickly catches the attention of a 'bad-boy' biker named 'Slate.' Slate is the ultimate 'alpha' male; however there's a problem: he simply wants it to be about exclusive sex; Sammie wants and needs more from Slate. Sammie's certain she's embarked on a dangerous relationship with the hot biker and 'prospect' member of the notorious Outlaw Motorcycle Club. She soon finds out she's totally out of her league with Slate and the dangerous people he associates with in Indianapolis. Something big is brewing in Indy; and it's not about race cars! 'Diamond Girl' will keep the reader on the edge of their seat from beginning to end; this book has it all: passion, erotica, romance, danger and possibly more... much more.

A year ago 19-year-old Lindsey Dennison's life took an abrupt turn. While away at Cornell for her freshman year at college, her parents' marriage imploded. Lindsey learned the harsh truth about her father, and his involvement in criminal activity. He'd slipped out of the country with his lover on the eve of his arrest, deserting his only child. Lindsey was left trying to pick up the pieces of the life she now realized had been a house of secrets and lies for all of those years. After her mother's second marriage relocates her from Indianapolis to Washington, D.C., Lindsey decides to start fresh at a new college closer to where her mother, step-father and baby brother Bryce are now living. Life is different now for Lindsey, but it's about to change even more. Trace "Taz" Matthews, an FBI agent is about to rock her world in more ways than one. Taz is a confirmed man-whore but Lindsey has a problem she's certain he can fix . . . but will he? Despite their best efforts, Lindsey and Taz are tossed together by fate on more than one occasion, and this G-Man doesn't appreciate the distraction. Issues at home with her mother suddenly cause Lindsey's life to become increasingly complicated. There's a budding romance on the horizon for Lindsey with a wealthy and attractive guy she meets at school; but things are never quite as they seem. Lindsey will learn a brutal lesson about trust, compassion and strength. Taz will learn lessons about love, intimacy and honor, and that sometimes doing the right thing has consequences. This book is intended for mature audiences. Warning: Explicit Sex, contains rape scene.

There's a new Alpha in town . . . and he's a Brit! Darcy Nicole Sheridan, is 22 years-old, beautiful, single, spirited, sexy and - spoiled. She knows that about herself. Raised by wealthy (and doting) parents as an only child, Darcy pretty much coasts through life until her heart is inexplicably broken by her G-Man, Darin. Darcy doesn't handle rejection well; she isn't used to it. To ease the pain, Darcy flies to Belize over the Christmas holiday fully intending to wallow in self-pity and distance herself from D.C. and the pain that originated there. Her pity party is short-lived however, after observing a very handsome, very intriguing man on the beach with a beautiful blonde. The blond gets ditched and it's Darcy that becomes the focus of the smokin' hot, wealthy and somewhat mysterious 'E.J.' Some very interesting things happen in Belize, but it doesn't end there. Once back in D.C., there are even more surprises in store for Darcy, including a new male roommate, her best friend Lindsey's wedding, and a surprise encounter with "E.J." that leaves Darcy confused in more ways than one! Shortly thereafter, surprising changes are in store for Darcy's career, love life and even a repentant Darin shows up in the mix. Readers will get a bonus glimpse of Taz and Lindsey's HEA and perhaps even see some loose ends tied up with respect to the Rat Bastard! As always, this latest release of the "G-Man Series" will keep you on the edge of your seat through the laughter, tears, angst, drama and mystery. Easton is sure to be a favorite 'G-Man' of many in this newest release of the series! He's an alpha like no other . . .

Spend the holidays with the G-Men, their women and extended family as they cruise the Caribbean in first class accommodations compliments of Easton Matthews! This novella takes place 14 months after the conclusion of "Night Moves." Darcy was promised a lavish ball to celebrate her elopement with Easton Matthews once she felt up to it. Darcy has decided she would much prefer a 12-day cruise on the Caribbean, with friends and family as their guests. Even the best-laid plans can go awry when you have the G-Men and their women aboard "The Lust Boat!" This book playfully wraps up the G-Man Series, with the usual unpredictable circumstances, along with misunderstandings, love and lots of humor! You will read chapters from each character's point of view, and learn a few things about some of the characters you didn’t know. There will be a surprise visit from someone you would least expect to drop by during this holiday vacay. Along with that, there are bonus chapters at the end that will satisfy readers of the previous book as to what happened right after that horrific incident in New York City with Sammie and Slate, and Lindsey and Taz. As a reader, you will be a voyeur into their private and intimate moments right after the shooting in Mullaly Park. As a special bonus, a never seen, never-meant-to-be-seen 'secret' chapter from "Love Plus One" will be included for entertainment (and shock) purposes only!

Baby

Is her past destined to taint her future? Rescuing Tylar from unspeakable danger, Trey Sinclair, a handsome but arrogant high-powered attorney from Atlanta makes it his mission to protect the innocent and unworldly young woman from the dreams that hunt and haunt her. For anyone who has ever been in love or in lust, MAYBE BABY will stir those forgotten feelings of passion and yearning within you; making you ageless as you travel the romantic and erotic journey with Tylar and Trey as they unravel the secrets of each other.

'Baby Love' is the sequel to 'Maybe Baby' and follows the twists and turns in the lives of the handsome young attorney Trey Sinclair and Tylar Preston. The second volume in the series finds Trey and Tylar the proud parents of a child. They are in love and their relationship is blossoming, but soon Tylar discovers that her nightmarish past will continue to haunt and threaten her new found happiness with her family. She fears for the safety of her baby and the sanity of herself. There are many surprises in store not only for Trey and Tylar; but for Gina (Ty’s friend) and Tristan (Trey’s brother) as well. Will the love and intimacy they share be enough to bond them even closer or will their pasts tear them apart?

This book is the third and last installment of the 'Baby Series' trilogy. This book follows the continuation of Trey and Tylar Sinclair's poignant story of love and passion. It has been a sometimes bumpy road thus far, but they have always found the strength they needed in each other . . . however, they are put to the ultimate test in this book. They discover that there are those that would like to destroy the loving relationship they have by death or at the very least, infidelity. Trey and Tylar's love and commitment to each other is put to a tragic test in this book. Will they be able to survive the unexpected tragedy that befalls them? Will the strength of their love, the depth of their commitment to each other and the ability to forgive draw them ever closer?

Baby Come Back’ is the final installment in the 'Baby Series'. This novella follows Trey’s brother Tristan and Ty’s best friend Gina. It is written from Gina's point of view, providing insight into her past and secrets that she has shared with no one. Unfortunately, events unfold which force Gina to come to terms with unresolved issues from her past that have hindered her ability to love and trust unconditionally. Tristan also has something to share with Gina as their relationship reaches a new level. This story overlaps with ‘Baby Love’ (book 2) and ‘Be My Baby’ (book 3). It mainly focuses on the events of Gina and Tristan, but manages to shed light and further clarify Trey and Ty’s story, wrapping up the series about the Sinclairs.

Stand-Alone/Spin-off
This novella is a spin-off from the G-Men Series and can be read as a stand-alone. Paige Matthews has a lot to learn - about everything, including herself. At age twenty-two, Paige finds herself driving across the country to start an internship with the F.B.I. in Quantico, Virginia. You would think that Paige would be grateful to her older brother, Trace Matthews, a senior F.B.I. agent who pulled strings on her behalf to get her into the program, right? Wrong. Paige is not overly enthused at the realization that her parents have pushed her from the nest and onto her older brother's plate for the time being. Always a loner, she quickly wears out her welcome with Trace and his wife Lindsey, due to her . . . need for random hook-ups, and finds herself crashing with her oldest brother, Easton, and his wife Darcy. Through Darcy, Paige is introduced to her sister-in-law's former roommate and bestie male friend, Eli Chambers, along with his sinfully handsome partner, Cain Maddox. They're looking for a roommate and Paige is looking to get out from underneath her family's watchful eye. This is no typical "Three's Company" story though. Paige embarks on a journey of self-discovery that teaches her not only about giving, but about accepting love as well. She soon realizes that sometimes what you're searching for has been right there with you all along.

Uncovering You: Release Day Blast

Links:Tour Amazon

When I wake up in a dark, unfamiliar room, I have no idea what's waiting for me in the shadows. My imagination conjures up demons of the worst kind. Reality is much worse: A collar with no leash. A prison with no walls. And a life stripped of meaning. I am presented with a vile contract and asked to sign. It outlines the terms of my servitude. The only information I have about my captor are the two small letters inked at the bottom: J.S. Armed with only my memories, I must do everything I can to avoid becoming ensnared in his twisted mind games. But in the end, it all comes down to one choice: Resist and die. Or submit, and sign my life away

Excerpt
“Lilly.”
Oh God. It’s him. There’s no mistaking that rich, masculine treble.
What’s he doing down here?
“M-Mr. Stonehart,” I stutter, turning. I curse my inability to hide my surprise. He totally caught me off-guard. I have to look up to meet his eyes. Then up some more.
The face that I find is so striking it should belong to a Greek god.
He’s younger than I expected. Late thirties, maybe early forties.
That means he started his company when he was younger than me!
Dark scruff lines his angular cheeks. His jet-black hair is styled in long, natural waves. My fingers itch to run through it.
Totally inappropriate.
He has a prominent nose that might be too big on a less imposing man, but on him, it’s perfect.
In short, he’s a package of the purest masculinity I’ve ever seen.
And then there are his eyes. Oh my God. His eyes. They pierce into me like honing missiles. They are the deepest black I have ever seen. They would be frightening if they weren’t so beautiful. When the light reflects a certain way, you catch a glimpse of the purple underneath.
They are like midnight sapphires. His eyes reveal a cunning intellect. Those eyes do not miss a thing.
Add all that to his towering height, his wide shoulders, his confident-yet-at-ease posture… and Stonehart cuts an intimidating figure.
My gaze darts to his left hand before I can stop it. No ring. He’s unmarried.
He looks down at me, expectantly. His eyes narrow ever so slightly, and I feel like I’m being dissected, measured up, and tucked away in some small corner of his brain. I imagine this is what a gemstone feels like under the magnifying class of the most critical appraiser.
Stonehart clears his throat. I come to with a start, realizing I haven’t said anything in ages. I open my mouth, but the capacity for speech seems like a foreign concept to my brain. “I—”
Somebody bumps into me from behind. I stagger forward. I’m not used to these shoes, so my heel steps the wrong way. My ankle twists under me, and I start to fall.
I don’t fall far. The hand still on my elbow tightens, and Stonehart pulls me into him.
I plaster myself onto the solid steel wall the man has for a body. I catch a scent of his cologne. It’s a deep, musky smell with a hint of charred spruce that is all male. It scrambles my thoughts even more.
“Sorry!” a rushed voice calls out. From the corner of my eye, I see the postman giving a hurried, apologetic wave.
Although the sequence lasts less than a second, it feels like an eternity. Pressed up against him like that, I don’t want to move. I know that I couldn’t have made a worse first impression.
Stonehart eases me off him with a firm yet gentle grip. Our eyes meet. I flush the most vibrant red. His fingers graze my forehead as he brushes a lock of hair out of my face.
Any tenderness I may have imagined vanishes when Stonehart takes out his cell. He long dials a key and growls an order. “Steven. See the delivery boy leaving right now? Have his building pass revoked.”
I gape. Stonehart keeps speaking. “Wait. I thought of one better. Bar his company from accessing the building.” There’s a pause. “For how long? Indefinitely. FedEx can talk to me when they have an improved employee selection program in place.”
The phone call gives me just enough time to compose myself. My heart’s still beating out of my chest. But nobody has to know that.
I speak without thinking. “You’re going to restrict the entire company from serving this building because of that?”
Stonehart humors me with an answer. “A company’s employees are its most important asset. Their behavior reflects the organization as a whole. If FedEx decided that clown is good enough for them, it tells me they’re sloppy. I do not do business with sloppy organizations.”
“What about the other tenants in the building?” I ask. “Won’t that piss them off?”
When I hear myself and realize how improper my question is, my cheeks flame red again.
Stonehart’s eyes darken, as if he cannot believe I asked that question. I open my mouth to apologize for my imprudence, hating the way my professional skills have evaporated into thin air. I’m cut off by a short, barked laugh.
“Miss Ryder.” He sounds amused. “I believe that is the most direct and honest question anybody has dared ask me in weeks.” He takes my elbow again and leads me to the elevators. I have to take two quick steps to match one of his long strides.
“Yes,” he continues. “They will be ‘pissed off.’ But the perk of owning a building—” he hits the elevator call button, “—is that you get to make executive decisions.” He gives me an unreadable glance as the doors open. “That is, at the risk of being questioned by inexperienced interns.”
If that isn’t a loaded remark, I don’t know what is. I flush scarlet red for the third time since I’ve met him. I’ve never had a man throw me so off balance.
The elevator is packed, for which I’m infinitely thankful. The trip up will give me some time to properlycompose myself.
Gratitude turns to panic when the crowd files out, meek as mice, when Stonehart steps in. None of the people waiting in the lobby follow us.
The doors close. I’m alone in here with him. My heart’s beating as fast as a hummingbird’s wings.
He catches me staring. “Impressed?” he asks.
“They know you,” I manage.
His dark eyes flash with amusement. “Astute.”

Author Info
I’m Scarlett Edwards. I wrote my first book as a college sophomore. After six months of edits, it made its debut as Yours to Savor.
That was at the start of 2013. I’ve written more books since then. You can find them all here.
It’s funny how quickly life changes. I used to think I’d need a degree to get a “Real Job.” Then I wrote a few books, they got somewhat popular, and now I’m living the life as a full-time romance author.
Thanks to all my readers for making my dreams come true!

A.L. Parks

Born and raised in the Rocky Mountains, A.L. Parks has spent the last 25 years moving all over the United States. Married to the Navy - well a man in the Navy - Parks has lived in various places throughout the United States. Now she resides in the Washington D.C area, and loves every minute. She has four children, and one spoiled German Shepard. 2013 marked her debut in publishing. Her first novel, Strangers, released on her 45th birthday. She was amazed at how many people fell in love with a story about two people dealing with grief, and finding love again. Abby and Bryce were the perfect couple to introduce Parks as an up-and-coming author. Her second novel, The Return, released in December 2013. A wonderful Christmas romance, it is the first book in a series. Book Two is set to release in Spring 2014.

Interview

1. Your husband was in the Navy and you have traveled a lot, what has been your favorite place to live?
He's actually still in the Navy, but will be retiring in a couple of years. I really enjoyed San Diego while we were there, but I love the east coast. Being in the DC area is awesome, because I am so close to so many cool places. My husband spent a year in Newport getting his Master's, and we really enjoyed visiting him there, also. Oh, those mansions!!!

2. Strangers was your debut novel, was this the first book you have ever written or was this just the first book that you decided to publish?
No, the first book I wrote is still in editing. I'm sort of a big baby about it. I LOVE it, but want it to be absolutely perfect before I publish it. The characters feel like family to me, and their story is so suspenseful and romantic...
And I actually wrote The Return before I wrote Strangers, also. Strangers is a stand alone, so it seemed like a really good story to debut. Bryce's story will be a novella, and while I had hoped to get it out before Christmas, it has sort of been put on the back burner in favor of these other WIP's.

3. For you what is the best part of going to signings and events?
Meeting people! I love to talk about my books to people who come up to the my table. I love being able to put faces to bloggers I interact with over all the various forms of social media we use. And I love meeting other authors...some have become my biggest behind the scenes support network. And their books have inspired me to use my voice, and not let it become overshadowed.

4. You are starting a new series the Escape Series with the first book being Redemption, then you have the second book in the Return to Me series Return to Newport and then also the second book in the Strangers series Emily's Wish with writing different books in different series at the same time do you ever get confused or do you write them at different times to avoid that? (I know that I get confused just trying to read multiple books in different series at the same time, it's one of the reasons I don't like cliffhangers I tend to merge story lines :) )
Yeah, that doesn't make me look like the poster child for adult ADD. LOL! Squirrel! I have been known to write two books at once, but it is not very often. And when I do, the second book is more of a "time-out" to get my head on straight with the first book. And I don't have an issues with getting the story lines crossed because they are typically very different stories.
For the most part, I may have two projects going at once, but only one that I am primarily focused on.

5. What are some of your favorite authors that you love to read, the ones that you will pick up their book without reading the synopsis because you know that you will be getting a good read?
I have recently become a huge Candis Terry fan. I also love my gal pal, TJ Kline. Liz Crowe has a no-nonsense story-telling that takes everyday obstacles and turns them on their heads.

6. What was it about second chance romances that grabbed you and inspired you to write books about it?
I live it, so I know it. I have some life experiences under my belt, so I really wanted to write about what happens when your first love doesn't turn out to be the One True Love. For some of us, we need a second chance...and I wanted to tell those stories.

7. What is your favorite comfort food?
Yes, food comforts me. All of it. LOL! Chocolate is always a good go-to, of course.

Rose Garcia is a lawyer turned writer who's always been fascinated by science fiction and fantasy. From a very young age, she often had her nose buried in books about other-worlds, fantastical creatures, and life and death situations. More recently she's been intrigued by a blend of science fiction and reality, and the idea that some supernatural events are, indeed, very real. Fueled by her imagination, she created The Transhuman Chronicles--a series of books about people who have overcome human limitations.

Caught In The Crosshair

 3 of 5 stars false
Lauren James had ignored the recent spate of calls from her brother. After all, he was a big player linked to a major cartel, and he’d been dead to her for nearly a decade. Then she receives the one call she can’t ignore—her brother’s been kidnapped and will be killed if she doesn’t bring money. No matter how far gone her brother is, Lauren can’t turn her back on him completely. Deep down she’s always wanted to save him. Now, she’s forced into action because he’ll die otherwise.
Ex-Special Forces sniper Jaden Dean owns a private security firm and after losing his older brother to gang violence, needs to take down as many scum bags as he can—single-handedly if need be. And he was the best. Until he trusted the wrong woman on his last assignment and ended up nearly dead in the street.
On a tropical island with a hurricane brewing and dangerous men closing in, Lauren and Jaden will need to work together to survive and find her brother. The cartel seems to be one step ahead, and Jaden’s operatives are being killed one-by-one. He will have to use all his specialized training and risk everything, including his heart, to outwit the deadly group and keep Lauren safe. Their magnetic attraction isn't helping matters...because even a slight distraction might just get them both killed.

Review

****The author provided a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review****
Lauren has been ignoring her brothers phone calls she knows he is involved with a drug cartel, but when she gets a call demanding a ransom or he will be killed she rushes to his aid. Jaden owns a security firm he lives with guilt every day, over his brother's death, trusting the wrong woman and the deaths of his men. The two of them have to work together to stay alive and find her brother. The beginning of this book pulled me in, the prologue and the phone call had my interest peaked, then a burst of action had me glued to my kindle wanting to see what was going to happen next. I liked how the author set the story up and the characters themselves. I loved all the action packed drama and how the author worked the romance into the storyline without making it the complete focus of the book while at the same time not making it inconsequential.  As much as I liked the book for all the reasons above I did not really like this authors writing style, I felt that the book was a bit verbose and at times I felt myself concentrating a little more on the actual words themselves than the storyline. If you enjoy this writing style then this is a book for you, even if you do not the storyline itself keeps you interested and gives you a good read.

Tears of Tess

Tears of Tess (Monsters in the Dark, #1)
4 of 5 stars false
A New Adult Dark Contemporary Romance, not suitable for people sensitive to grief, slavery, and nonconsensual sex. A story about finding love in the strangest of places, a will of iron that grows from necessity, and forgiveness that may not be enough.
“My life was complete. Happy, content, everything neat and perfect.
Then it all changed.
I was sold.”
Tess Snow has everything she ever wanted: one more semester before a career in property development, a loving boyfriend, and a future dazzling bright with possibility.
For their two year anniversary, Brax surprises Tess with a romantic trip to Mexico. Sandy beaches, delicious cocktails, and soul-connecting sex set the mood for a wonderful holiday. With a full heart, and looking forward to a passion filled week, Tess is on top of the world.
But lusty paradise is shattered.
Kidnapped. Drugged. Stolen. Tess is forced into a world full of darkness and terror.
Captive and alone with no savior, no lover, no faith, no future, Tess evolves from terrified girl to fierce fighter. But no matter her strength, it can’t save her from the horror of being sold.
Can Brax find Tess before she’s broken and ruined, or will Tess’s new owner change her life forever?

Review

****I received a copy of this book courtesy of Black Firefly, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review****
"Monsters find each other in the dark..."
Tess Snow has always had these cravings. Dark cravings. She wants things she knows she should not, things that she's afraid to acknowledge. Things that her boyfriend Brax would never consider doing to her, but she cannot live with them bottled up for much longer. Ready to reveal her true self on a surprise trip Brax plans for them, she's afraid he'll turn against her like everyone else. Her parents have always been painfully honest that she was a mistake that ruined their lives, what if they saw the darkness lurking in her soul from the very beginning? Before she can spill too much she finds herself taken from the life she's built and thrown into a world of real life monsters and seedy underground dealings. Refusing to surrender, she's given to a man who will change her world forever.
Tears of Tess promised to be a dark contemporary romance and it delivered. It was a great introduction to a new series filled with the shadows of humanity, the dark corners people are scared to look into. As warned, there are triggers contained in the story, so it may be tough for some, but it is told in a beautiful way that is edgy and erotic and emotionally provocative. The tougher scenes, even though contain some of the same general acts, are charged with different emotions than the erotic ones and draw a clear and precise line in the sand allowing the reader to still be more comfortable with the rougher edge of the developing relationship between the two main characters.
Tess is a character that evokes a level of emotion right off the bat. Even if you don't share her issues, everybody has most likely felt a percentage of the self loathing or low self worth that she struggles with daily. It also seeps off the pages and into the readers subconscious, sucking you into a roller coaster along with her. Her growth is measurable and you watch her change from a scared girl to a woman that embraces every side of herself even if it is different from the herd mentality of society.
Q Mercer is a mystery that is unraveled through the pages. Secret end games-taboo desires, and beautiful ink symbolizing a shamed past- he is complex and dark. I loved getting to know him piece by piece through Tess's eyes. He was sexy, powerful, and a believable sadistic Dominant.
The writing was smooth and absorbing and easy to breeze through even considering it was on the longer end, and supporting characters played their part in bringing this world into the three-dimensional. I'm so glad Ms. Winters is continuing the series, and I'm excited to continue it with her.
